I haven't like looked at any stats to back this up but the dodgers offense does not scare me, the mets does.

both teams pitchers scare me.

Part of me thinks we may have a better chance at getting one game against Greinke/Kershaw and taking three off their other schlubs than getting four wins against the Mets Murderers Throw.

7-0 against the Mets this year and I believe we faced all of Harvey, DeGrom, and Thor at least once. But I think I'd rather face the Dodgers with how the starters work out, no Greinke until game 3. Kershaw on short rest in game 1 or game 2 on full rest. But really it doesn't matter, we are winning in 5 no matter what.

BETTER QUESTION, who do we want in world series?

My first thought was the Mets. But the 7-0 record came against a much worse offense than they have now, and it's hard to ignore how much better better their 3/4 starters are than the Dodgers'. The Mets would have the definite advantage in the non Lester/Arrieta games. Kershaw and Greinke are really scary, but I think I'd rather play the Dodgers.

I'd rather face the Mets. Projections on Fangraphs and the like seem to absolutely love the Dodgers. The betting market values the Dodgers higher as well.

Give me New York after extra innings on Thursday.

I'm probably more worried about Kershaw and Greinke, who've been excellent and really really good against the Cubs this year. The Mets pitching has also been strong against the Cubs though. I guess the Mets offense is slightly scarier than the Dodgers with Cespedes going off like he has, but neither team is as good hitting as the Pirates or Cards were.

Really, the question then is who do you want to beat to vindicate historical failure? Wash away the 1969 collapse taste? Or the 2008 sweep embarrassment?

I honestly don't care. I wanted to kill St. Louis. And we did. We chopped their [expletive] heads off and put their superiority behind this generation of players forever. I think we can beat anyone.

If you make me pick someone, I guess LA.

Probably the Mets. I'd rather face real good pitchers in 6 games than really really good pitchers in 4 games. Also I don't respect their revamped offense.

Already said it in the other game thread, but I'd rather face 3 very goods and one unproven for 7 games versus 4 or 5 games of super elite. I could see the offense blowing up Syndergaard, Harvey or Degrom. I can't see them doing that to Greinke or Kershaw.

I've been thinking that the Mets young pitchers might hit the wall soon. I haven't looked it up but I'd guess all of these guys are setting a career high in IP right now.

This may be a dumb question but if it is the Dodgers, won't they make them start their games earlier so as not to lose ratings on the east coast? I can live with 8:30 EST start times.

Without looking it up I feel like we crushed DeGrom one game this year and knocked out Thor really early in one of his first starts. Combine that with Harvey looking pretty hittable his last start...

mets definitely. especially since they wouldn't have to face degrom (the only guy that is close to being on kershaw/greinke's level) until game 3.

And DeGrom has a 6.1 ERA in 10 innings against the Cubs this year.

Thor 5.06 ERA against us in his 1 start.

Harvey was good against us, but he's looked hittable lately and he's not someone I would freak out over at this point.
