Has to be JA Happ right?

I hope Castro does go there just to see Dave Cameron's reaction. He hated him even when he was good.

I like Iwakuma. Trade for him then bring up Wada to replace Russell and be his buddy.

They want Baez? Give us Upton or Kemp and he's theirs.

PLEASE STOP WITH THE KEMP STUFF

I would like to acquire Matt Kemp.

Why? Seriously give one good, logical reason why Kemp is a wise acquisition. Just one that makes sense. And "he could use a change of scenery" isn't a logical reason, that's an excuse. What in the hell do you see in Kemp that makes you think he would be a wise acquisition for the Chicago Cubs?

There's the PetCo to Wrigley argument. Not just on offense, but he'd have less OF ground to cover, which could be helpful to his comically bad defensive numbers. Beyond that, all I've got is that he's too young to just fall off a cliff.

He's a lot older than Starlin Castro.

And on top of that, he took his first expedition down that cliff in 2010 and apparently didn't like his brief return to the top of that cliff in 2011 because he's been extremely mediocre ever since.

These are the reasons you want to add close to $80 million in payroll for one guy?

Did anyone mention that Kemp has a degenerative hip problem(in both hips, I believe)? Because that's also a thing.

No. Just no. First, petco has been more of a hitter's park this season. Second, Kemp sucks assholes and is due a brazillion dollars. [expletive] no.

Could be Iwakuma. Every team could use a guy whose name means "Rock Bear".

My M's friend says they will never trade Iwakuma because ownership wants a Japanese connection at all times.

Lol, Kemp

I don't want him on the Cubs even if SD paid all his salary.

23:15 until I get to post a hilarious Willie Wonka gif six times across three Cubs sites.

Just begging for Veruca Salt in response.

I had no idea who this Gyorky guy was at all, nor how some dude I'd never heard of already had a contract they want to unload

I uh, haven't been paying much attention the last like 3 years

I know it doesn't make sense. But part of me would rather see Soler involved and Upton coming back rather than Baez/Castro involved and Gyorko coming back along with Ross and Kimbrel

Kemp at home this year:

.269 .322 .440 .761

Kemp on the road:

.243 .289 .381 .670

Why would getting him away from SD help his offense again?

Does it even make sense to you that a Cubs fan would want a lesser player traded for? I don't know what's worse, the [expletive] you post or the fact that I continue to [expletive] read it.

I'd be thrilled to see Castro and Edwards for Ross and Kimbrel, but we'd have to include more - probably much more. Maybe add McKinney and Underwood.

This.

I'd do that in a heartbeat. I get that they might be trying to hold off trading Baez, but I hope the front office isn't delaying this by caring about guys like Underwood.

My favorite part is "Upton or Kemp", you know, whichever. If that falls through we could offer Baez to the Rangers for either Hamilton or Odor.
