Montero has a higher OPS against left handers this year than righties Also 99% of hitters struggle against Kershaw because, you know, he's the best pitcher on the [expletive] planet. Didn't i say that just about every other hitter struggles as well? You starting to develop selective reading too?

yeah we will see the same lineup tmrw since he is a lefty. Pretty sure Montero will catch. Ya but Montero has struggled mightily vs. Kershaw just about the same as every other lefty. it doesnt change much, you still see herrera out there and if fowler is out again you still see denorfia Montero has a higher OPS against left handers this year than righties Montero's career OPS vs. Kershaw is like .571

Bottom line, Triple H is not horrible, but not anything to brag about. No offense = no wins 3/5 starts. period. herrera and denorfia in the starting lineup at the same time is bad news.

Counting today, Haren has faced Locke, Jungmann, Sale, Williams Perez, and Bumgarner Since the deadline Hendricks has faced Garza, Cain, Samardzija, Miller, and Peavy Please stop, you have no idea what you're talking about The only good pitcher Arrieta has faced in the 2nd half is Shelby Miller and Cole Hamels The only good pitcher Lester has faced in the 2nd half is Kluber. The rotation got all messed up when maddon started lester on short rest after the PPD game vs. the pirates.

wtf The Cubs offense has been really hot in August. Our cushion in the 2nd wildcard spot was really pushed by the cubs hitting very well. Maybe they could be the 1927 yankees in 2016 or 2017? not 2015. Bottom line is the cubs pitching isn't nearly as capable as the top competitors, ie the cardinals. who gives a [expletive] about any other team your chasing besides the best team, the top competitor. thats who you have to beat to go deep in the playoffs.

Well, assuming we lose today, we'll be 16-14 in games started by Hendricks and Haren. So this is one of the dumbest things I've seen. There's also the whole Hendricks and Haren aren't going to always be up against the ace of a >.500 team thing. Last I checked Hendricks and Haren have been going against pretty much top of the line pitchers the past aside from the Lester vs. Kluber game this week most of the time our best pitchers are throwing we are facing the bottom half of the other teams rotation. ah so that is sure to continue and obviously not pure happenstance go look at all of the games this year and you tell me our best pitchers faced the other teams best pitchers more times than they faced the other teams junk pitchers.. matchups got funky after a couple of those cancelled games.. thats just the way it happened..

Why would you compare the Cubs to a historically great pitching staff? Setting the bar a little high don't you think? Why wouldn't you compare yourself to your top competitor? Anything less is setting the bar too low. Same goes in business.

All>>> I am comparing the Cubs (my favorite team) vs. the Cardinals (the team i Hate the most) we will never surpass them with trash heap bottom of the rotation starters... at least not in 2015. to me all other teams dont matter. the road to the world series is going through st. louis this year.

Our hot streak in August was due to the BATS coming alive. you watched every game also right? The main reason our offense has been top in the NL in the 2nd half was because of August. Dont sit here and tell me you are blind to see the truth you said kyle hendricks is mediocre you think our rotation is a weakness you think 5th starters are supposed to be really good all of it is wrong tell that to the cardinals which we trail by what 6 games? Hendricks is Average! he isnt above average he isnt good he is average look at how his stats rank up and that he is NOT average.

The offense has been carrying the team And the pitchers carried the offense when he sucked in June/July They DID! But Haren and Hendricks arent very good. Hendricks is average.

jesus [expletive] christ I got about halfway through that and just stopped reading. When the cubs matchup the other teams 1st / 2nd starters vs. our 4th / 5th starters,.. i dont care about L/R matchups the best hitters need to play regardless of splits.. Gotta score runs, lots of them because the cubs starters will give em up.

having merely mediocre 4-5 starters make you likely an excellent team, you realize that, right? you realize that this is what separates us from the Cardinals right? They dont have a starter with an ERA in the 3's. I dont care about a good team or an excellent team I want to see the cubs be the ?BEST? team.

This is the scarey part of this team the 4-5 starter has been mediocre all year.. Hendricks had some good games, and some bad ones, Haren is pretty much trash unless he pitches in a pitchers ball park... The cubs lead in the 2nd wild card probably wont go away (although it could by end of september) but Triple H will probably be why we cant catch the Pirates for 1st spot or Cards.. Triple H paired with 50% AAAA lineup is pretty much very low probability to win as we know.. but heck there is a nice comfy lead on the wildcard at the moment. so i guess it is what it is..
