personally I do not care how they spin it, it does not seem right that ARod is getting waaaay more punishment than others. It seems either vindictive or as a way for the Yankees to get out from under a lot more money.

Well there are some reports he was acting as a promoter/pusher to other players on Biogenesis' behalf, so if that's true I get it. If he was involved just as much, but not anymore, than any of these other guys I feel the same way you do.

It is vindictive, apparently due to him trying to interfere with the investigation.

Also, he was caught previously and went on MSM with his sob story of "lesson learned, never doing it again, blah blah". MLB is obviously going to make him the example, and rightly so IMO.

Nelson Cruz had this to say about hois suspension:

“From November, 2011, to January, 2012, I was seriously ill with helicobacter pylori, which went undiagnosed for over a month,” Cruz said. “By the time I was properly diagnosed and treated, I had lost 40 pounds.

“Just weeks before I was to report to spring training in 2012, I was unsure whether I would be physically able to play. Faced with this situation, I made an error in judgment that I deeply regret, and I accept full responsibility for that error. I should have handled the situation differently, and my illness was no excuse.”

That being said, also sounds like ACES is a shady agency group...

Nelson Cruz just fired them as his agents and the MLBTR article had this to say:

ACES came under fire this past offseason and was investigated by Major League Baseball after another client, Melky Cabrera, was suspended 50 games for PED use. Cabrera and ACES employee Juan Carlos Nunez reportedly tried to cover up the scandal by purchasing Spanish-language web sites to advertise a fictitious product which Cabrera claimed he took, unbeknownst to the fact that it contained synthetic testosterone.

In addition to Cruz and Cabrera, ACES also represents Biogenesis-connected names such as Jhonny Peralta, Jesus Montero, Fautino de los Santos, Cesar Puello and Gio Gonzalez, though the substances purchased by Gonzalez were reportedly legal and he is not believed to be facing a suspension.

They represent(ed) 6 of the 13 suspended players in the Biogenesis scandal. 8 of 15 if you count Gonzalez, who was mentioned in the reports (though reportedly innocent), and Cabrera (from last season)

Seems dodgy.

It's MLB's way of pretending they care about this [expletive]. His punishment is completely arbitrary and I hope he wins an appeal.

By a test that was anonymous and wasn't supposed to count? The union fucked these guys by having them take that test.

It is vindictive, apparently due to him trying to interfere with the investigation.

Melky tried to interfere way worse. A-Rod is a first class dick bag, but I do think they're trying to make an example here. Problem for me is that they should have done this to Braun if they wanted to make an example of someone. A-Rod's career is practically over anyway.

Witness intimidation, recruiting players to Biogenesis, and trying to buy records to destroy them are all a whole lot worse than creating a fake website.

Lolo Jones ✔ @lolojones

I was chosen to be drug tested right before I left for my bday party, so the drug testers were obligated to shadow me until i peed in a cup.

Lolo Jones ✔ @lolojones

I changed my moms phone name to Ryan Braun and had her call my cell repeatedly while they were testing me. Mwhauauhaha,

Suspended Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun told stars around baseball before spring training 2012 that the man who collected his urine that tested positive for synthetic testosterone was anti-Semitic and a Chicago Cubs fan in an effort to gather support throughout the game, three sources familiar with the conversations told Yahoo! Sports.

What a [expletive] douche.

man, he should just be showered with boos and abuse when he plays at wrigley.

He's not going to be well-received in Arizona, that's for sure.

Talking with some Brewer fans, there are many of them who hope he goes away.

Braun personally asked him to prank call two journalists working on a story about the failed test, according to the lawsuit filed last month in Milwaukee County court.
