We don't even get the TPE? Terrible.

We should. TPE's aren't traded. If we send out Korver and don't take any salary back in, we get a TPE. We just have to wait for the full details.

K.C Johnson ‏@KCJHoop

The Korver trade is via Minnesota into Atlanta's traded player exception, meaning Bulls get 2nd-round pick from Minny and save $500K.

There it is.

So who exactly is going to shoot (and make) jumpers? Because we know from years of experience that Kirk won't do it. Hamilton is going to be hurt by November 12th. CJ is gone. That leaves...???

Us an injury to Boozer, Deng, or Noah early in the season as a lottery team.

Michael Redd? What happened to that guy? I thought the Bulls were going after him.

Regardless, this will be a tough year. I can't say I totally blame Garpax, because I don't know if there's much they could do. Perhaps they are waiting for 2014.

Boozer is due.

How's Teague's jumpshot?

Probably going to see another season like 09-10, after Ben Gordon left and before Deng refused to take a step back and shoot behind the 3-pt line. Bulls still have enough 15-18 foot jumpshooters, but anything beyond that is going to be tough, especially without DRose there to draw the defense into the lane.

I hear Wesley Person is available.

hahaha, I don't even remember Wesley Person.

Get his bro Chuck. That dude had ice water in his veins. If we can re-team him with Reggie Miller we'd be on to something.

Seriously though, I think they are better off punting 12'-13' at this point. Dont let Rose play Before March, see if anyone will take Boozer's contract in return for expiring deals, hope for a high lottery pick (looks like some good big men will be available next season), and see whether we can nab an SG (Ellis? Martin? Evans?) in free agency.

That two year run of being one of the best in the NBA gave me some of my best sports memories. Too bad Rose's knee had to be destroyed.

Haha and people were railing on me for taking shots at the conservative bulls management and ownership...

That's not why people were and continue to rail on you...

It's the "all or nothing" approach of meatballism; if someone disagrees with the meatball it must be because they hold the opposite extreme opinion of the meatball's extreme

Actually my approach is to stop standing pat and be creative with your roster. Either punt the season and trim payroll or don't. But don't add Asik only to be saddled with his contract in 2014.

This Korver thing is really a mess and not at all done...

There were late indications the three-team deal could fall apart, though that didn't stop Korver from scheduling a flight from his offseason training base in California to Atlanta for the physical, the sources said.

The deal would take the Bulls off the hook for the $500,000 guarantee of Korver's $5 million non-guaranteed salary for 2012-13 and slide him into the Hawks' traded-player exception, acquired in the Joe Johnson deal with the Nets.

Minnesota's involvement is where the complications arose. The Timberwolves spent Friday clearing salary so they can sign Trail Blazers forward Nicolas Batum to an offer sheet Sunday once some of their players clear waivers. This process affected the Korver talks, with Minnesota seeking cash or draft picks from the transaction.

It's also unclear what the Bulls will receive with negotiations ongoing, though one source said they originally agreed to a second-round pick from the Timberwolves and a $5.1 million trade exception. Another, less likely possibility would be the second-round pick and Wayne Ellington, whom the Bulls had interest in coming out of North Carolina.

If Redd will sign for the minimum, that's probably our target.

He was pretty solid back in 2008 so I think it'll work out well.

Apparently this happened on Saturday.

Peter Vecsey: This just in: Nets have come to terms with C.J. Watson as backup point. Two years at vet minimum. Watson owns option on second year

No wonder we couldn't get him traded if teams were only interested at the min.

I'm surprised he only got the minimum. I would have rather retained him at that price than sign Hinrich.

There's rumors we want Mayo, but I can't think the TPE we've got is nearly enough to get him, since it has be used by itself.

Cross OJ Mayo off the list, he's signing w/ Dallas.

I really like him going there, I think he could take that next step to being a solid 2/3 option on a contender there. He never seemed to find his role in Memphis when they actually could do something the last two years in the playoffs.
