See 3 posts up...Kentucky, Mizzou, Ole Miss, Arkansas and Alabama have at least outside shots for at-large bids.

There were too many words in that post for me to find them all.

That was easy for me.

And I say that fully expecting Illinois to lay a giant egg this week at home vs. Penn State. Because it's happened a lot recently, since Illinois is 3-6 in their last 9 against Penn State.

Not gonna happen.

67-30 over the last 33 minutes. That was awesome.

At Nebraska Thursday scares the [expletive] out of me. It's pretty simple right now I think. Get to 10-8 with 1 in Chicago and I think they're in.

5 games left. 2 with Nebraska, home games with Illinois and Purdue and at Indiana. Gotta go 4-1 and not gonna win at IU. I don't see them losing at home vs. Purdue or Nebraska so you've gotta get the road wins at Nebraska and home vs. Illinois.

You're in at 10-8 regardless of the BTT.

They're out at 10-8 with a loss to PSU in the BTT.

I think it's pretty unlikely that OSU finishes 9-9

Bruce Weber' Illini, yes, but with the way this team has been playing lately, no, it appears the light has finally come on for them, especially on defense.

All the bracket goons seem to think otherwise. Although I think at this point of the year they often overstate what teams need to do.

ESPN is a seemingly endless loop of [expletive] Big East games on Monday.

The 7 pm slot on Monday has been a Big East game as long as I've followed college basketball.

The Big East and Big 12 are the only major conferences that schedule games on Monday's, it's better than showing [expletive] Horizon League, CAA, SWAC, Southern League, MACC, and MEAC games.

No, it's really not.

Agree, I love night's like tonight when I can catch on other channels:

Hofstra/Drexel

Norfolk St/Hampton

Bucknell/Lehigh

I get to see different conferences and schools and learn about them. And in the case of Bucknell/Lehigh you could see possibly 2 All Americans if CJ McCollum wasn't hurt.

I know, and I hate it. The Big East and the ACC are the second worst things about college basketball.

IU hasn't beaten MSU in East Lansing since Calbert Cheaney was a sophomore. Let that sink in for a minute. George H.W. Bush was President...

I can't get very optimistic for this one. A win would be huge, but I'm not feeling it tonight.

i just don't think finishing 4-1 boosts them up enough...the only good win in that scenario would be illinois. that would leave them with five top 100 wins. that's how many iowa state has now (with 3 weeks left), and they're as on the bubble as it gets.

But Iowa didn't lose to Old Style's Red Raiders. Or Iowa.

Big Monday was great back when they'd have Big East, Big 10 and then one of the crazy, small gym, everyone plays full court press, west coast games at midnight central.

We have Bobby Knight to thank for the end of Big Monday since he didn't like having Big 10 games played on ESPN's schedule. IIRC, they passed a law in Indiana saying that college games couldn't begin after 9 pm.

Wow has it been that long? If IU wins this game they may not lose again this year. There will be no tougher game the rest of the season even if they go to the final 4 it will wont be in an environment like tonight.

Disagree. I think playing Florida or Louisville for either a national championship or a berth in the national championship would be much tougher, regardless of environment.

Seventeen straight losses. IU did not play there in 1992-93, otherwise the streak would likely be slightly shorter.

yet here we are with iowa state with an rpi of 50 and iowa with an rpi of 81.

by the way, iowa state probably needs to win 4 of their final 6 to get in, which i'm not sure they can do. but if they do, those 4 will include a win @ wvu + 2 of @ baylor, @ ou, vs. ku, vs. osu.

if they pull that off, they certainly have a better resume than iowa.

If we play the "if" game, "if" Iowa wins @ Indiana, they'll certainly have a better resume than Iowa State. Not to mention, Iowa won't have the stink of losses to Texas (even with Rugonbo, Kongo or whatever his name is, Texas still isn't very good) and Texas Tech.
