As the resident Seahawks fan on the board, I will Take the Seahawks and the points this weekend. Marshawn Lynch will help and 2 big plays downfield from Hasselbeck will seal the game. 2 INT from Cutler will help too

Lynch will be a non factor in this game.

Fwiw, John Clayton mentioned the 5 concussion thing on Sportscenter last night.

We have Lions, Seahawks, and Panthers fans on this board. Man we have some fans of bad teams around here... ;)

I'm starting to reevaluate how good the Seahawks are. I didn't realize just how much turnover they've had since Carrol took over. I heard on the radio that they've made (I think) 217 different roster moves since he took over in the Spring, by far the most in the NFL in that time. Makes me really wonder if it's fair to judge them partially on last years team. In this years team, at home they destroyed the 49ers and beat the admittedly slumping Chargers. On the road they've been outscored by about 40 points in their 2 games. Who knows how good they are. All we know for sure is that they have a good run D and special teams (at least kick returner).

I think the Bears will win but it will be closer than expected. Something like 24-20.

They aren't a particularly good team but they play in possibly the only stadium in the league with a homefield advantage the past few years, and face the worst division in the league.

There is a decent chance they're the best team in the NFC West, and still worse than every other team in the NFC besides Carolina.

Adam Schefter has an article with imaginary trade proposals...this is one of them...

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/story?columnist=schefter_adam&page=10spot/10week06

New England Patriots guard Logan Mankins to the Chicago Bears for defensive tackle Tommie Harris and a fourth-round pick: Chicago gets the help on the offensive line it needs, and New England gets help on the defensive line it needs along with the fourth-round pick it gave up for wide receiver Deion Branch.

Considering the Patriots are asking for a 1st rounder (LOL) for Mankins, I doubt they'd entertain the idea of a 4th round pick along with an injury-prone DT who has clearly fallen off.

While I agree with the sentiment, Tommie isn't really all that injury prone. The injury excuse stopped being valid a couple seasons ago. He's just declined.

Bears 23

Seahawks 10

I think the Bears can put it in the end zone a couple times against the Hawks, based on defense and special teams if not offense. I think the limiting factor for us will be our run game vs. the Hawks' run D. That will keep us in the low 20's.

I can't see Seattle putting up points against the Bears' D on the road. If they do I'll be unpleasantly shocked, for sure.

Barring some kind of turnover mess or S/T's breakdowns by the Bears, I think we take this one from the Hawks, but with all the same frustrations we've been seeing for most of the year with the OLine sucking and Jay ducking.

Any word on Lance Briggs today? He hadn't practiced all week and word was if he didn't practice today he wasn't going to play most likely.

It does suck that Briggs will probably not play, but we shouldn't need him to win this game. Hopefully he can go against Washington, but I'd be okay with sitting him again with the bye being the week after. I rather get him completely healthy because we're going to need him the 2nd half of the year.

I liked what I saw from Iwuh in the preseason. Let's hope he takes advantage of his opportunity.

i was asked to go to a seahawks bar in the upper east side to watch today's game. i found a bears/cubs bar in brooklyn a few weeks back and have been going there for just about every game (can't beat the free chicago hot dogs during halftime), but i'll make due with a couple seahawks fans and free pizza at their bar during halftime.

Have my typical Sunday morning doubts about a game the Bears should win. So, I decided to post my keys to the game.

1. No day off for D. The Bears D knew they had to carry the team last week w/o Cutler, and they played like it. With Cutler back, that doesn't mean the D can wait for the offense to pick them up.

2. As Lovie likes to say, "Get off the bus running". I know Seattle is #2 vs. the run. I know they are like 30 vs. the pass. But you got an unsettled OL, with yet another personnel change. And you have a QB coming off a concussion that doesn't need to take a lot of hits in a winnable game. Seattle has been so bad vs. the pass that they can't keep committing heavily to the run. Wear them down early and playaction late.

3. Turnovers. Hasselbeck likes to throw the ball to the opposing team. Stay disciplined and at least 2 balls will be there for the picking.

4. Special teams. The Bears have a recent history of dominant special teams play. Seattle has the #1 return team in the NFL. Don't give Seattle any short fields by giving up big returns. Show them the ST standard bearer of the last 5 years.

I understand that NYC is a destination for Americans all over the country because of how dynamic it is, but I wouldn't have thought there would be enough Seattle transplants to make it possible to have a Seatte-centric bar.

i thought the same thing! i asked my friend how crowded it gets and he said seahawks fans roll in about 75-100 deep on gameday.

wish I had this game. Guess I'll have to watch it on the computer (I'm stuck with ATL/PHI)

Yeah, I've got the same problem out here in Arizona.....but my internet connection is slow enough, I don't think I'll be able to watch video out here very well.
