  1. And now Brenly gives his 2 cents on Z. Shockingly Big Z is not his favorite player... http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/chi-brenly-big-z-has-gotten-better-only-at-being-selfish-20110815,0,4411626.story
  2. Pretty much same thing he said the other day but ARam again commented on Hollandsworth.
  3. Haha awesome. Basically a big F U to the league
  4. huge®? Really?
  5. Again, none of that flew with Bradley. It's not going to fly here. Zambrano is going to be ripped to shreds, but so is Quade, Hendry and the rest of the organization. I dont know you may be right, and if so hopefully its just another step out the door for Hendry.
  6. And Hendry will spout the "we tried getting him help, anger management, etc.." but it just didnt work. We gave him that contract expecting Carlos to mature and grow as a person but it just didnt work out." Then the media goes back to ripping Z and such
  7. What a bizarre response. Why? The fact that if he actually retires, rids Hendry and the Cubs of his contract, and the sideshow that Z brings at times has to thrill the hell out of him. Yea Z will need to be replaced but a boatload of money just possibly opened up for that replacement. Well yeah, I understand there are benefits to Z retiring. That doesn't make it any less weird to have Hendry acknowledge a player's emotional outburst(especially Zambrano) like it was a reasoned career decision. Yea I see your point, but also at this point, Hendry sure as hell isn't going to bend over backward to try and talk Z out of retiring, because quite honestly, him retiring benefits the Cubs more than him playing.
  8. Im assuming this was said with the biggest [expletive] smile on Hendrys face ever. I seriously doubt that, since ultimately this reflects very poorly on him, too. I dont think it will reflect on Hendry at all. Almost everybody in the media and such think Z is a headcase and such, so they will all give Hendry a reprieve that Z was just a lost cause, and has a mental problem. All the blame will reflect on Z

  10. Im assuming this was said with the biggest [expletive] smile on Hendrys face ever.
  11. Well, that's cool and all. But one doesn't really have anything to do with the other. Kind of. People dont give the Phillies [expletive] over that trade. I know the Phils have been much better than the Cubs since, but still. Im sure tther teams have also traded away prospects or young players who have turned out to be stars for guys who did little to nothing for them. I guess I don't get why this trade still gets constantly blasted several decades later, almost as if the critics are saying that Lou Brock was the one guy who could have taken us to a World Series. I think part of it is the fact that it was a trade between the Cubs/Cards? I dont know Im just grasping
  12. Achilles but either way still sucks
  13. WTF So Spencer isnt even starting and they are going back to Louis? Not liking this at all
  14. Maybe it's time to stop messing around with Tyler Colvin and call the kid up. Wouldnt surprise me to see him called him within 2 weeks if he keeps hitting like he is.
  15. What are Vitters overall season numbers now? Seems like hes been putting together a real nice last month or so?
  16. Now Tony whining about Brewer fans. Does he ever stop whining and bitching? http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=AgX.ydyZQxdwPnbAkRYM70I5nYcB?slug=ap-cardinals-larussainsults
  17. Umm Buster Olney just said on the pre game that Hendry didnt trade Baker/Johnson because Hendry told him he feels they are a part of the future. WTF
  18. That usually means its a good move.
  19. From Rotoworld
  20. And hopefully this 1 doesn't die
  21. Late as hell. He was already on top of the bag
  22. Cubs cant develop young players because of the losing atmosphere within the Cubs organization. I may go crazy listening to these dumb bastards today
  23. WTF is McCarver talking about? A lot of people expect Castro to move to 3rd when he fills out more? I swear he just makes [expletive] up
  24. Nice to see that at least one person recognized the moment (if half-heartedly). I'm a little disappointed in this place. Wherever he ends up, it's quite a story that deserves recognition. Getting 2000 hits is "quite a story? Todd Zeile and Shawn Green each got over 2000 hits in their career, was that quite a story that deserved recognition?
