Did anyone hear the end of the Sox game the other night? Hawk Harrelson said something like: "You couldn't pull a greased T out of my behind with a pliers." Could this guy be any more of a bafoon?

He could be Dave Kaplan

Or a buffoon.

Nah, he deserves his own special term. He's definitely a bafoon.

I have nothing against the White Sox at all, but I simply can not watch their games or listen to the highlights. Harrelson needs to be gone as soon as possible. I can't believe he still has a job.

"I have never EVER heard of that called... in all my career, comin' up through little league..."

I THINK WE HAVE A TRIPLE PLAY!!

Sadly there's a large portion of the sox fan-base that eats his crap up. I wouldn't say it's a majority, necessarily, but a big enough portion that they probably aren't going to dump him one would think.

I vaguely recall a game where ARam went deep in the 9th to win a game, and Hawk & company just left the booth/turned off their mics, and WGN just showed the Cubs celebrating with no audio. Best ending to a game that I can only vaguely remember ever.

I remember something like that. I got home from wherever I was, got on my computer and saw it was tied heading to the bottom of the 9th, so I thought I'd go watch the 9th at least. I went, turned the TV on, turned to WGN, and was met by silence and a shot of the bushes just above the wall. I wondered why they were zoomed in on the bushes before Hawk mumbled something about that being the game and cutting away to ARam crossing the plate.

I wish I weren't a Cubs fan sometimes so that I could make my cousins believe that he is truly awful independent of my perceived Cubs bias. Seriously, if he were canned, they would be in an uproar.

GOD he's bad

Yeah that was a great game. Lee and Ramirez went back-to-back off Dotel in the 7th to tie it and then Ramirez went walk-off to win it. Oh 2008, you seem oh so long ago.

Cubs went on to sweep that series, as well:

Ramirez Homer (Len's call, so you can't not hear Hawk)

I actually enjoy listening to Hawk when the Sox are losing. His description of the opposing teams are always as if they were the 27 Yankees (and of course, not that the Sox are bad). I enjoy his excuses for poor Sox play, I guess.

Im not going to lie, one of my guilty pleasures is to tune into a Sox game when they're losing and listen to Hawk grumble. Its basically as though some fan boy managed to make his way into the announce booth. Then again, if I were a non Cubs fan, Id probably feel the same way about Ron Santo.
