Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting that the Redskins reached an agreement with free agent running back Willie Parker. According to Schefter, it's a one-year contract with a maximum value of $3.1 million.

Truly running back by committee I guess.

If it was 2005, they'd be stacked.

the best part of this is going to be the reaction of the eagles fans.

i don't think it will be a big deal... most of us have already come to the conclusion that our window to win a championship has closed, mcnabb is getting older and more immobile, and getting a decent return for him and moving forward with kolb as the starter is the best thing at this point.

Don't guess Jason Campbell was the answer. McNabb won't be either though. They should still draft a QB at some point in this draft.

They won't get anything better than Campbell who is still young.

I can't believe they traded him to a division rival. I thought Arizona would have been a good fit.

You gotta think the Eagles either think that McNabb is gonna be done soon, Kolb is the real deal, or both to trade their franchise QB in the division.

There are some interesting prospects in the 2nd-3rd rounds of this draft. John Skelton, Jarrett Brown, Tim Tebow and Dan Lefevour are all very interesting prospects who can likely be had late 1st to 3rd rounds.

Plus, Campbell's going to be 29 next season and was a restricted free agent this year. That said, I think Campbell's a solid QB.

Very good trade for the Redskins, I think. They upgraded at QB by quite a bit and still have their first rounder to take (I assume) Russell Okung to anchor the LT spot.

Last years team was the best Eagles team of the McNabb era outside of the one good TO year, IMO. McNabb's very good but without a running game to lean on he leaves a few too many plays on the field for them to be Super Bowl favorites.

Campbell is a good QB. Not great but he was headed in that direction. McNabb is still a very good QB but likely headed down. He will have to learn a new system which I believe he hasn't had to do in a real long time plus won't have as good of a receiving core, not that Phily's is that great.

If you look at the stats Campbell is close to as good as McNabb at this point. QB rating isn't the greatest but McNabb is only 3.9 better over the last two years than Campbell (89.2-85.3) and Campbell is the much more accurate QB.

So basically they are giving up a 2nd rd pick in a loaded draft and a 3rd or 4th next year for a QB maybe a little better than their current one. Add in that McNabb is much older, likely to decline soon, a big salary and the fact that McNabb can walk next year leaving the Redskins with no QB and I say this trade was a bad one for the Redskins and it is not particularly close.

A McNabb trade was going to be bad for anyone but the Eagles. The Eagles get a young QB on the field and presumably more Vick, since Reid won't have to worry about bruising McNabb's ego by putting Vick on the field more often. They have 5 picks in the top 90, which I would imagine they could turn into an earlier 1st and a 2nd. So, they can presumably bag Iupati/Pouncey and Allen/Burnett, or move around to get a guy Earl Thomas and still get a pretty good OG or CB.

I hadn't realized how close Campbell's stats were to McNabb's. I wonder how much better McNabb fits Shanahan's scheme than Campbell does. I know Shanahan likes mobile QBs (Elway, Plummer, Cutler) and I wonder if he felt like McNabb would fit the offense better (because of better mobility)? Campbell isn't Peyton Manning slow, but I believe McNabb is more mobile.

His numbers have improved every season. Though I don't know where he tops out. If he tops out where he is right now, I'd call him decent. I wouldn't call him good -- it's probably just semantics though.

I'd give him a look if I was a GM, put it that way.

He'd be a real nice pickup for the Bills. Apparently, the Bills, Jags, Panthers and Raiders (and a mystery team) are all interested in him. He'd be a certain improvement over 3 of those QBs (Garrard the possible exception).

Just heard on the radio that Jason La Canfora of the NFL Network is reporting that the Redskins are trying to

trade Albert Haynesworth.

John Clayton seems to think the Titans are interested in reacquiring Haynesworth, but I am not sure if Tennessee really want that contract tho.

Brett Favre became a first time grandfather, when his oldest, Brittany, gave birth to a son.

So....write your age appropiate jokes here, guys.

I'd actually be very interested in re-acquiring Albert. The draft pick to get him likely wouldn't be high at all and the Redskins would be paying the entire guaranteed portion of his salary (I believe). He's a perfect fit for the Titans' defensive scheme and might be re-energized to be back in a system he knows he can be successful in.
