Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports reports that the Steelers may be at their "tipping point" with Ben Roethlisberger.

A tipping point is defined as "the culmination of a buildup of small changes that effects a big change." A source tells Robinson that Steelers ownership is "shaken" by the onslaught of fan discontent with Big Ben. While we don't see a Roethlisberger trade as likely, it's well known that coach Mike Tomlin believes Dennis Dixon has a future as a starting quarterback in the NFL. The Steelers may listen to offers for Big Ben leading up to and during the draft.

I don't know if they will trade him, but if there is an organization that will trade him over fears of fan discontentment, it is the Steelers. I wonder what it would take to trade for him? I know the Rams have talked to the Steelers about a Big Ben trade, but who else would want a head case QB?

Oakland?

If the Rams could get him for a 2nd round pick and draft Suh in the 1st round that would be a hell of an offseason alone.

Reports are that Roethlisberger's henchmen (off duty policemen) guarded the door while Big Ben had sex with this girl. She was drunk and her friends wanted to get her out of the situation because she was unaware of what was happening. This is coming from the alleged rape victim's friend which means that Ben might have paid off the girl he slept with and only her friends can talk now. It only gets worse for Ben. I have a feeling he is getting traded or released now. Obviously these are rumors, but I also heard that there is another girl who is saying the same thing. This latest one sounds fishy, but you never know with Ben.

Anyone watching Gruden just demolish the top college QBs after watching clips of games with them. Pretty good stuff.

Here's an article on the Big Ben arrest.

If that's what really happened, he's a pig.

My problem right now is it seems no one has turned their attention to the off duty police officers. They played a role in this. Even if the girl consented in the bathroom, not allowing the friends to go back is something police officers should be allowed to do even when off duty. To put it simply they are not the type of people that should be police officers.

I also have a problem with the report written by the officer when the girl first came in. He writes in a way that comes off like he is trying to protect the off duty officers and Big Ben. He writes that she was asked for sex but never writes that she said no or anything along those lines. Why would the girl be at the station if she had wanted to have sex and why would her statement written at the same time as the first report state alleged sexual assault?

The initial report mentions nothing about what was accused of Big Ben. All it says is that it is unclear because the girl's memory is foggy. Why not write what she was saying and add that her memory was foggy. Not writing what she thought happened and just saying her memory was foggy and thus it is unclear what happened undermines the entire case.

Add this that they had 5 full days to get the security tape but somehow never did and allowed it to be taped over and you got a great case against the police department. Unfortunately it appears the girl wants it all to just go away and likely won't go after the police department.

before all is said and done, i think we can all agree that the FCC will be paying mr big ben a little visit.

The FCC?

Likely a $20,000 fine.

oooo I got an idea let's derail another thread by bringing up arguments from a different thread that have nothing to do with this thread

One wonders why the D.A. didn't think there was enough evidence to prosecute Ben with this in mind. I think the video footage that was taped over might have been a key element in the D.A.'s choice. How stupid of the police was it to let that out of their sight.

It's a mistake that in no way should ever be made. In a case like this cops, media and regular people know that the security tape is the only real way to get a conviction. There is a strong history in cases where the accuser is drunk or on something that their testimony is untrustworthy in a juries eyes. DNA evidence won't do much because the accussed can say it was mutual and because the accuser was drunk there is no way to know for sure. Obviously if the accuser is beat up it makes the case much easier even in cases with heavy drinking involved but the police knew from the start it wasn't that way. All this means the security tape should have been priority #1.

Big Ben alledgedly assaulted another woman that too.

Link.

During their investigation, the GBI also came across an unsubstantiated allegation that a drunken Roethlisberger had made unwanted advances on another young woman who lives in the Milledgeville area.

During a party at Roethlisberger’s house, the quarterback allegedly pulled his pants down and told the woman she could “do whatever she wants," the GBI report states.

A week later, Roethlisberger invited her to a party where he allegedly forced his hand up the young woman’s skirt, according to the report.

She was able to escape and informed her father of the incident, the report states. The father apparently encouraged his daughter not to pursue a criminal complaint.

With all these claims, my guess is Roethlisberger is going to face at least a 2 game suspension.

Ginn to the 49ers.

Ginn has been traded to the San Francisco 49ers for a late-round pick in this year’s draft, according to the Twitter account of Fox’s Jay Glazer.

Should have drafted Brady Quinn.

Or maybe not.

I'd be interested to see how Quinn would have done in a better organization than Cleveland. We'll see if McDaniels can turn him around.

1. The guy who took the original statements that I said earlier were heavily biased has been forced to resign. Turns out he was hanging out with Boozin Ben at the very bar the ordeal took place at a few hours before it all happened.

2. Absolutely love the Ginn trade even though I'm not a fan of Ginn. It gives us the returner we need. That alone makes it worth giving up a 5th round pick. He should also at the worst be a decent slot receiver for us. Running cross patterns and posts with VD will be hell for an opposing defense due to the ridiculous speed of both players. He also gives us the thing that was lacking most in our receiving core. The ability to stretch the defense. He not great at actually getting receptions deep but due to his speed he forces a defense to account for him deep which opens up VD and Crabs underneath.

On a side note I love being able to call our two best receiving targets VD and Crabs.

Denver started trading their good players almost as soon as Quinn got there too. :-) In all seriousness, I expect Orton to remain Denver's starter for the foreseeable future

This year, definitely. McDaniels did a lot with Cassell in New England (it seemed, the talent there likely played a part too), so he may be able to fix Quinn.

And yeah, Quinn's gotta be frustrated that the Broncos have traded Marshall and are trying to trade Scheffler as soon as he gets into town.

Whoever traded for Ginn was going to get a real nice deal. Good job by the 49ers jumping on it.

i don't really get the Sims for Scheffler (for 5th rdr) deal, from the Lions perspective

they can find a good backup TE in the 3rd or 4th (i'd have liked Graham or Hernandez) a lot easier than they could a starting LB. now they've backed into a corner where they have to focus at least a pick exclusively on both LB and CB. Sims' play would also have been set to improve vastly with block eating tackles like Williams, Hill and probably Suh up front.
