Damnit. I wanted Amano. He's a solid LB.

LB? Did you mean OL or is that an abbreviation I'm not familiar with?

I meant OG. I was talking to a co-worker about Karlos Dansby while typing.

Ah, makes sense. He'll likely play center for the Titans next year, assuming Mawae isn't re-signed (which I doubt he will be).

And Amano is another sign of Mike Munchak's incredible coaching ability. Many of the Titans' best linemen have been mid to late round picks who have blossomed into solid to very good players. Amano (7th), David Stewart (4th) and Leroy Harris (4th) are all significant contributors to the current Titans that Munchak has developed.

Jake Scott. :x

I really liked that signing when we made it and I still like it quite a bit. He was a very good addition.

Scott is definitely a quality player. I hated to see him go, the Colts sure could use him. The Colts evidently only could afford to sign either Scott or Ryan Lilja. The decision looked bad in retrospect last year as Lilja was injured and missed the entire season, but was he was probably the best lineman on the team this year. Wish they could have kept both, though.

At least you weren't watching football while typing.

For the 49ers I expect a relatively quite offseason. No huge holes that can be filled in FA. I don't think we will go after a QB. Smith is showing promise and the coaching staff supposedly still likes Nate Davis a lot. We may get a OLB but I doubt it would be a big name. Porter is possible but I don't see it but he is the only foreseeable big name we go after.

I think the team will just want to resign most of the players and allow our roster to age because we have a lot of young talent and with two first round picks we should be able to get players who can fill our remaining holes. I would really like to see us resign Barry Sims so he can be a versatile backup as he filled in very well when Staley went down.

Jake Scott. :x
I'd always assumed Scott was the son of Jake Scott, the Dolphins' All-Pro DB from the 1970s (he was on the 1972 undefeated team among other Dolphins' teams). I just recently read that they, in fact, are not related.

Not a surprise, but the Chargers have cut LT.

Tomlinson set 28 team records, including the marks for career rushing yards, yards from scrimmage and touchdowns.

He set an NFL single-season record with 31 touchdowns in 2006.

He ranks eighth on the NFL's all-time rushing chart.

And the former NFL Most Valuabel Player was named to five Pro Bowls.

Not sure if I'd do this if I were the Redskins. I think Campbell has more value on the team than Whitner/draft pick do. Of course, that depends on the pick.

According to a report from The Washington Post, there is word about a deal that would send Campbell to Buffalo for safety Donte Whitner and a draft pick.

was it a surprise that the chargers didn't tender sproles?

Very much so to me. Especially after cutting LT, I figured they'd hold onto Sproles. Apparently, though, he wanted a long term deal and they only wanted to give him 1-2 (or 3 tops) years.

I figure the Chargers will look running back very early in the draft.
