Per a report from Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer, the St. Louis Rams have offered the Eagles their second-round pick (No. 33 overall) in exchange for the 33-year-old McNabb.

In addition, McLane has sources that have told him McNabb would agree to the deal if it came with a long-term contract extension.

I was just thinking about this, wondering if the Eagles would consider that. Draft Suh then trade for McNabb. That's a much better option than taking Bradford. Revisit taking a QB next season.

The kickoff is at the 30 in regulation as well.

Ok....yeah had bad info there...I misread one of the articles that included info about the 1994 kickoff rule change. Oops.

There needs to be a "strikethrough" option on the forum so I can go back and cross that out...

Once upon a time there was.

Hooray for "most of the time"!

So, 27% of the time the team that won the flip, went down and scored a FG on the first posession and won the game in OT. That sucks. That's a huge number of times that the other teams offense isn't even getting on the field for an overtime game. And don't forget, the defense is already gimped in OT thanks to the kickoffs being at the 30 instead of the 35. So the team that wins the flip doesn't even have to go as far to get a FG in OT as they would in regulation.

Those numbers mainly combat the idea that the team that wins the toss "always" or "a significant amount of the time" drives down and wins the game.

However, defense not being able to stop an offense is part of football. Sometimes the defense is better, sometimes the offense is better. The point of overtime is to decide a winner. It's not to make sure everybody gets the football. The offense still has to execute and still has to beat the defense and execute the field goal (long range in your scenario). If they do all that, I have no problem with them winning the game.

The rumors include the Rams sending Otogwe as well. I think it's a good deal for both sides. Rams get a franchise QB and can bolster their D-Line and the Eagles get a 2nd round pick and a good ball-hawking safety.

I think its a good deal for the Rams. I like McNabb more indoors and on turf too.

I think it's kind of a pointless move by the Rams. A 34-year old oft-injured franchise QB might make them a .500 team, but is that some sort of goal?

Bridge the gap for about 2 maybe 3 years. They need to draft a QB either this year or next and groom him behind someone.

Sure, but what good does gap bridging do? To go from a 1 win team to a contender, you need your draft picks to provide a lot of quality play for several years.

It depends on how quickly they feel like they can improve over the next couple of years. They get McNabb with the second round pick, pick Suh with this year's 1st rounder and bring in a couple of solid veterans (to go along with who they've added so far in free agency), they could become fringe contenders in a couple of years.

Then, you have a veteran QB to help bring along whoever you draft next year – or later in this year's draft.

Not sure where this is supposed to go, but apparently Tebow was told to STFU when he tried to lead a prayer before the Wonderlic.

He denied that but I hope it happened. I'm Catholic and have no problem with his having fervent faith (it's great, actually), but shoving it down other people's throats is getting annoying.

I agree, but I find it also as offensive that someone would tell Tebow to "STFU" when he's trying to lead a prayer. If you don't want to participate, so "no thank you" and move on. No need to be offensive to someone who is religious.

as much as i hate on him, i really feel bad for tebow. he's going enough going against him just trying to become a useful nfl player without espn hounding his every move and weird stories like that coming out.

There's no need to try and lead others in prayer, that alone is offensive.

I don't feel bad at all, he's brought this all on himself, has relished every moment of the over the top praise, and whatever he makes of his post college football career, it's going to be based entirely on the myth making that has gone on to date. Without this, he's a washed up former playing selling cars in 15 months. With this he can pretty much do what he wants in the sports media world.

There's no way that story is true. I dislike the guy as much as the next person, but I don't even think he's that big of a nut to lead a prayer before a test.

He did a pro life ad for the super bowl, why would he consider leading a prayer too nutty?

The only reason anyone even knew that was a pro-life ad is because of the pre-game hubbub. As far as I could tell it was a pro-violence against women ad because he tackled his mom. /sarcasm

The Steelers are having a bit of a Cincinnati offseason.

Big Ben and now Santonio Holmes with the nightclub assault on a woman.

Steelers WR Santonio Holmes has been sued in civil court by a woman who alleged he threw a glass full of liquor at her earlier this month.

Court House News reported the suit, in which Anshonoe Mills alleged that Holmes ordered her to "get up" off a couch inside the VIP section of the Rain Night Club in Orlando on March 7. The suit alleged that Holmes and Mills tussled over placement on the couch, with Holmes claiming he had been there before her.

In the suit, Mills alleged that Holmes threw a glass filled with liquor into her face that cut her.

The suit also alleged that Holmes and members of the Orlando police department pressured Mills not to press charges because of his standing as an NFL player. Holmes, the MVP of Super Bowl XLIII, offered money to Mills, the suit said.

Bradford will be great as a pro as long as he has superior receivers and his line gives him 15 seconds to throw every pass.

Apparently the Raiders are the leading candidate to trade for Donovan McNabb.
