Fearless prediction, Purdue finishes no better than 3rd in the Big Ten this year. I'm guessing a 6-9 seed in the NCAA Tournament, and if they're lucky another Sweet 16. At least I've lost the frustration of them losing. The only games I 'expect' them to win with little trouble from here on out are Iowa at home, and maybe IU at home.

I think a lot depends on how quickly Jackson can come back. He would have been a difference maker in this game, since apparently Purdue has no one else that can bring the ball up the court against a little pressure.

And can someone other than Robbie Hummel learn how to shoot free throws? Moore is beginning to get very shaky at the line.

Which fingers did Hummel injure?

Left pinky

I didn't realize how bad it was until they showed the replay. It was at a 90 degree angle from the rest of his hand. Thankfully, it wasn't his shooting hand.

Is it just me, or are moving screens just being completely ignored by referees this year? I've noticed it the most in Illinois game because that's who I watch, but it seems like that part of the rule book is just being completely ignored right now. And it's not just happening to UI on defense, I saw plenty of moving screens from them last night.

Also, all Illinois fans can officially say that Illinois was alone in first place in the Big Ten. For a day.

Illinois will have a little cushion after they beat MSU on Saturday. :pig:

Last night's game was tough to swallow but it was a must win for OSU. Purdue wins that game and OSU

has no chance at the Big Ten.

For the first time this season I felt they really needed Lew Jack. Hardly anybody was penetrating just passing the ball around the perimeter looking for an open three. Also during their next match up JJ needs to have his 15 footer sharp so he can take Lauderdale away from the basket. He'll be more of a factor out there against him.

There's an odd separation of teams in the Big Ten in the Pomeroy Ratings today. 5 teams in the top 20 (Wisconsin, Purdue, Minnesota, Ohio State, Michigan State), only a single team between 20 and 75 (Illinois at 48), and then 3 teams between 75 and 97 (Northwestern, Michigan, PSU), and Indiana and Iowa on their own respective islands in the rankings.

As much as I hope you're right, step back from the ledge. IU isn't going to beat Purdue, much less in West Lafayette.

That game is playing with house money. Not supposed to be able to win up there.

Trivia time (and not even Big Ten)!

With last night's Colorado home upset victory, Big 12 teams are now an astounding 114-1 at home this year. Which team has the home loss?

Yep, and I only mention it now because either the numbers start to even out tonight, or two top 3 teams lose.

I was at that game. Now time to go see home loss #2. Prove me wrong ISU.

The JJ crap was/is what pisses me off most. He literally only got the ball once or twice in the last 7-8 minutes and I know one was the no look pass from Moore. We completely abandoned the inside and just would keep swinging it around the perimeter until 1. we had to chuck it 2. OSU stole it. It was awful and I don't know why Painter didn't call a timeout to remind them to go inside so that the perimeter opens back up. It reminded me of the UConn tourney game last year. We saw Thabeet and just abandoned the inside instead of going to JJ and having him try and draw fouls.

As far as late in games when we are getting pressed Barlow needs to be on the pine. He was woeful against the press down the stretch.

Cincinnati loses to St. John's at the last second. Notre Dame really needs to get them on Saturday. The LMU loss has basically removed their margin for error, and they need to get every game they are 'supposed' to win, plus a couple that they're not.

UNC getting their ass kicked at Clemson. Dont blow this lead Clemson, lets strengthen that Illinois RPI

I'm with you, but just because I enjoy UNC getting crushed under any circumstance.

Well, ISU lead Texas at half, but it only took about 3 minutes for Texas to go ahead by ten.

That was pretty much the difference. Can't give up a 10-0 run in 100 seconds to the #1 team in the country. ISU played a good game for the first time in a while, but they don't have room for very many moral victories.

Northwestern will not get a more winnable game all Big Ten season, and that includes Iowa at home. Wisconsin looked bad out there. NU did everything conceivable to lose that game from start to finish and Wisconsin finally decided to do something in the last 4 minutes. 7 missed FTs, just 1 steal, a ridiculous number of offensive rebounds allowed immediately followed by wide open, uncontested shots. Unbelievable.

Well there is that too

Up 48-46 then lost 50-60. AWFUL.
