Not worthy of its own thread but:

Have you heard? The Cubs haven't been to the World Series since 1908. I know, I'm tired of hearing about it, too.

No, I haven't heard that Carol. That is interesting.

first time I've heard it as well

I just want to know who went to the World Series posing as the Cubs in 1910, 1918, 1929, 1932, 1935, 1938, and 1945

2008 Dodgers=2007 Cubs

2008 Cubs=2007 Bosox?

I know the Dodgers are no Pirates, but man if the NLDS takes more then 4 games to dispatch the Dodgers then I would be disaapointing.

This game is going to be on my mind all day long.

It's going to be on my mind tomorrow when I get a chipped tooth fixed at the dentist, and it'll be on my mind when my wife has her final ultrasound. I'm going to be a nervous wreck by gametime.

A performance like we had in last year's NLDS would be so horribly, horribly painful.

Thought this was interesting:

Many people call the baseball playoffs a “crapshoot” including Braves skipper Bobby Cox. A’s GM Billy Beane was quoted in Moneyball as saying: “My (expletive) doesn’t work in the playoffs. My job is to get us to the playoffs. What happens after that is (expletive) luck.” The historical data presented in this article absolutely supports those sentiments. Considering that 51% of all playoff series are won by the lesser team indicates that it might as well be a coin flip. The MLB playoffs are indeed a crapshoot. Good luck to the Angels, the Cubs and all the playoff teams…with emphasis on LUCK.

That makes the Cubs underdogs, which means they should win.

So I'm a little sad and will sometimes have retardedly detailed baseball dreams. My most recent was that the Cubs struck first with a run in the first. Dodgers tied it up in the third. Cubs ran up Lowe's pitch count, and in the 6th they finally got to him, scoring two runs and chasing him with 2 on. Relief comes in and serves up a homer (couldn't tell if it was Ramirez or Soto). Cubs tack on one more in the 8th, win the first game 7-1. :oldbluekoolaid:

I remember having a dream around the all star break, Kerry Wood was pitching, it was a World Series game, but I cant be sure which game, or who the opponent was. There were men on 1st and 3rd, but I cant be sure how many were out. Woke up before it ended.

I dreamt we got swept again last night. We played the D-Backs though, which is why I haven't hung myself yet.

OhmyGod it's going to be Freezing in that ballpark. That feels like "54" is BS, especially inside that windtunnel of a ballpark with a 15mph wind. Looks like I'm busting back out the winter cubs coat for the first time since april. And the long sleeve underarmour.

Big words from someone going to the dentist that day, too.

Not a frequent poster, but just wanted to say I've arranged for my first day off from both of my jobs in the same day in nearly six weeks. I've got a good feeling. Cubs in three.

Oh, the trash talking has really picked up today in the office. I have a few lunches on the line now. :)

Man, I should really, really be pumped up for this game, but I'm not. I won't be until tomorrow after school. But then again, I don't get excited for Chirstmas until the night of the 24th.

I wish I would've been a Cubs fan longer since 2004 (although I got to miss 2003).

I echo those who say they are already physically sick to their stomach. Lowe has given up 2 earned runs in his last 6 starts. The Cubs haven't really put up any big numbers offensively against the Dodgers recently, and the Dodgers bullpen is very good. Not to mention Manny has been hitting everything in sight and is so huge in October.
