Took a run around the stadium last night. Eerily quiet, even for a Tuesday night.

Tis the calm before the storm.

LOL, I did the same thing last night (but I drove). The sign at Harry Caray's says "If Chuck Norris could bleed, it would be Cubbie blue!"

^That's not a bad lineup, but it can be shut down.

I expect Demp to give up 2-3 over 7 IP tonight. The rest is up to the offense.

Please be awake, bats.

I'll take it. Please be patient with Lowe and don't swing at his low-and-away slider, Cubs. I'm beggin' here.

My biggest fear with D Lowe is D Lee coming to the plate with 1 out and a man on 1st.

Lou has got to break out the Hit and Run with Lee up and less than two outs, sure you run the risk of the strike out, throw out DP but, with Lee' propensity to hit GB's, it's worth a try.

Haha. That's awesome.

Guy at work just told me Haray Caray's was packed at 6 AM. Anyone planning on going to a Wrigleyville bar after work is probably SOL. Those people that are drinking since 6 AM are too.

I'm a mess today. I really need to get to work. I have a feeling if we were to lose tonight I'll be depressed about it. I'm normally not depressed more than 30 minutes after a loss, but this feels different. I feel like we need to win today to get off on the right foot.

I'm just going to have a drink or two at my house while watching the Brewers game, and then head the the game around 4. Tomorrow though I plan to be in Wrigleyville.

Yes, this is the first time I'm a nervous wreck for the playoffs. Years past I was just happy to be there...

Me too...I was no where near this nervous. I wasn't even nervous like this for the Super Bowl. I think the last time I was this nervous was before Game 7 of the 2003 NLCS.

Your right though. Last year, I felt like, being a team that won only 85 games, we were playing with house money, so anything we did was awesome. With the Bears, my expectations were for the Bears to make the Super Bowl, and if they won it, thats awesome. But I had never seen a Bears Super Bowl team in my life (that I could remember, still pretty young in 85), so I was just excited to see the Bears go through Super Bowl week and all that fun stuff.

I've been pouring through Manny's game logs to find some sort of stretch where he's been less than awesome since joining the Dodgers.

I found a 7 game stretch in late August where he hit .208 .345 .208 .553. So I guess that's positive.

But then he immediately follow that up with a line of 636 .652 1.227 1.879 the next 5 games.

Folks, Manny is scary.

What would be the chances that we could sign him in the offseason? Money should be no object. We could move Fukudome if we had to and move Soriano to right.

Money will be an object. He'll be 37, and is going to want a 4 year deal for $20 million. He's a butcher in the field, and has been known to play hard only when he feels like it (look at his last full season on Boston). I'm not really in favor of a 41 year old Manny roaming LF, making $20 a year as he apathetically plays out the string in Chicago.

But hey, maybe him and Fonzie could be good buddies, they'd have a lot in common being declining overpaid Dominican OFs.

I'm probably being too hard on Manny, but I just don't feel like he'd be a good fit here. Maybe 3 years ago when everyone wanted him, but not at this point.

Word on the street is Derek Lowe still has cold-like symptoms (he had a cold over the weekend).

Only two things they have in common are their number and propensity to cheat on their spouse.

Various outlets (ESPN) have been harping on the "superior" Dodger pitching, in looking at the home and road splits of this great pitching staff I see a 1+ difference in ERA, a big time differences in BA, OBP, SLG and OPS.

In comparison, the Cubs staff has less than run difference in ERA; BA, OBP, SLG and OPS are all understandably higher on the Road vs. Home but, not by much were talking a home OPS .702 vs. a Road OPS of .721.

You'd think the Dodger staff, being so good, would have more consistent home and road splits

He's been on better teams which have lost in the playoffs before. The guy can do his fair share of damage, but I wouldn't freak out over his presence on the Dodgers.

This day is taking forever and I want to stop thinking about anything Cubs related until about 5:30. Maybe I should stop reading a Cubs related message board.
