I've been pouring through Manny's game logs to find some sort of stretch where he's been less than awesome since joining the Dodgers.

I found a 7 game stretch in late August where he hit .208 .345 .208 .553. So I guess that's positive.

But then he immediately follow that up with a line of 636 .652 1.227 1.879 the next 5 games.

Folks, Manny is scary.

He's been on better teams which have lost in the playoffs before. The guy can do his fair share of damage, but I wouldn't freak out over his presence on the Dodgers.

Exactly. Manny is a great player, and the team around him can be pretty good, but neither he nor they are "scary" to me. They could beat the Cubs, but the Cubs really have no excuse not to beat them.

I forgot to set the Tivo...I'm going to miss the first 1.5 hours as I will be at work and headed home (I can listen to the radio).

Oh well, I'd have liked to Tivo it but my teams generally lose games I miss and Tivo.

6 hours left!

At least I can bide my time by watching the Brewers vs. Phils. Should be a entertaining series.

This day is taking forever and I want to stop thinking about anything Cubs related until about 5:30. Maybe I should stop reading a Cubs related message board.

I'm trying to, but I can't. I'm a hopeless fool.

In about 2 hours, the Brewers/Phillies game can keep us occupied.

I'm a mess today. I really need to get to work. I have a feeling if we were to lose tonight I'll be depressed about it. I'm normally not depressed more than 30 minutes after a loss, but this feels different. I feel like we need to win today to get off on the right foot.

Yes, this is the first time I'm a nervous wreck for the playoffs. Years past I was just happy to be there...

Me too...I was no where near this nervous. I wasn't even nervous like this for the Super Bowl. I think the last time I was this nervous was before Game 7 of the 2003 NLCS.

I wasn't even nervous before the game 7 of the 2003 NLCS. I knew we were toast.

I thought we still had a chance when Woody hit the home run, but things quickly dissolved.

Yeah. So far, Furcal has struggled since coming back. Hope he continues his struggles.

I know there are alot of nervous nellies on this board----and that's ok---but for me, I am in a state of calm serenity. Now this can and prolly will change whenever or if the Dodgers take a lead, but right now I am calm because I know the Dodgers should fear the Cubs moreseo then the Cubs fearing the Dodgers

it will be big time today

i knew it was going to be hard this year, and i really wouldn't have it any other way

1st round : Dodgers

2nd round : Phillies

Big round : White Sox

lets go Cubs

you think the sox will make it through both the rays AND the angels/redsox?

I really doubt it

sure thing mang...and then we can spank them in 6 because that would be a world series victory at wrigley right?

A sweep in the World Series would also ensure victory at Wrigley.

Edit: Actually, winning in 6 would mean clinching in the AL park.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the format AL park, AL park, NL park, NL park, NL park, AL park, AL park?

Game 6 of the World Series would be a road game for the Cubs.
