The next five hours or so are going to be the slowest five hours ever

Once I get to the start of the Brewers game I'll be ok. Then it's baseball the rest of the evening.

Word on the street is Derek Lowe still has cold-like symptoms (he had a cold over the weekend).

He'll go Jordan on us.

Only two things they have in common are their number and propensity to cheat on their spouse.

And their ability to hit a baseball.

I'm a mess today. I really need to get to work. I have a feeling if we were to lose tonight I'll be depressed about it. I'm normally not depressed more than 30 minutes after a loss, but this feels different. I feel like we need to win today to get off on the right foot.

Yes, this is the first time I'm a nervous wreck for the playoffs. Years past I was just happy to be there...

Me too...I was no where near this nervous. I wasn't even nervous like this for the Super Bowl. I think the last time I was this nervous was before Game 7 of the 2003 NLCS.

I wasn't even nervous before the game 7 of the 2003 NLCS. I knew we were toast.

We were up 5-3 I believe at one point. Alou hit a HR.

I thought we still had a chance when Woody hit the home run, but things quickly dissolved.

I will not freak out if we lose game one. I will not freak out if we lose game one. I will not freak out if we lose game one. I will not freak out if we lose game one. I will not freak out if we lose game one. I will not freak out if we lose game one. I will not freak out if we lose game one.

If I keep typing it, it will become true. Maybe.

We lose game 1 with a unknown Z to follow? I'm freaking!

You should. The odds that the season ends in the NLDS go up a ton if they lose game one.

Yeah, I thought Wood's homer was a stroke of destiny and it provided me hope - sadly I was incorrect.

Rookie James McDonald was the last one in on the Dodgers playoff roster, over Ramon Troncoso and Scott Proctor.
