Temperature: 57°F (Feels like: 54°F)

 

Wind blowing in from LF at 15 mph.

OhmyGod it's going to be Freezing in that ballpark. That feels like "54" is BS, especially inside that windtunnel of a ballpark with a 15mph wind. Looks like I'm busting back out the winter cubs coat for the first time since april. And the long sleeve underarmour.

 

It'll be about 40 degrees warmer at game time in Dodger Stadium.

Are you for real? Triple digit heat should be banned. It was horrible, especially in a suit.

True, I didn't actually do the math that 54+40 = 94. I just assumed you were bragging about your weather. 54 is going to be awesome playoff weather. Definitely didn't feel like the playoffs when it was 85 degrees last year.

I saw the Cubs' "There's Only One October" commercial on TBS tonight and now I'm all geeked up for game time! Those commercials usually make me want to change the channel but it was the first time I saw the Cubs version... It's Fuk and Rami (with Aramis narrating).

Proctor, because of health issues he has had this year, isn't able to do that right now. ... Furcal is the starter at SS for now, unless he has more problems with his back or leg, and Berroa is the backup. But DeWitt will continue to start at 2B with Kent on the bench. ... Juan Pierre is the only LH bat off the bench with Sweeney not making the roster, but Joe reiterated that Nomar and Kent are good enough hitters against right-handers that it shouldn't matter. ... All of this is subject to change for the second round if the Dodgers get there.

 

But an hour later:

 

Both Ned and Joe indicated that they are still working through some things with the roster, and Joe specifically mentioned pitching. It's probably that last spot that initially went to Troncoso. My guess is they might be reconsidering that and thinking of giving it to Proctor or McDonald.

It's like in '03 when FOX would have the goat scamper across the screen. Quit trying to sell the same stuff. Aren't people tired of hearing such stupid excuses. How many times have the Cubs had the best team in the league in the last 20 years? Ever? And even if you are the best team in the league, there are eight other teams that are pretty decent themselves. Not to mention it's baseball and anything can happen.

Rick Reilly was just on ESPN in a completely stupid and pointless "Top 10 reasons the Cubs won't win" which included

 

- Kerry Wood's arm falls off (because no one has thought of it before)

 

- Ronnie Woo Woo denied entrance to Wrigley, puts Woo Curse on Cubs

 

and in my personal favorite about Fukudome reading his clock the wrong direction and arriving at a Series game after it was over, Reilly pronounced Kosuke's first name ko-SOO-kay.
