I thought the photos of the women in the game threads were supposed to bring luck by being somehow visually in support of the Northsiders. Did I miss a meeting?

It's 4:15 on Monday and I'm physically ill due to stress.

 

I don't think I can make it to Wednesday, let alone sit through the game.

A former teammate of Zambrano was asked recently if Zambrano was up for the pressure of starting a Game 1 of the playoffs. "No,'' the teammate said. "He has a big heart and big stones, but he'll be way too fired up. He can't even calm down for the first game of the season, let alone the first game of the playoffs.'' Maybe he'll be different in Game 3. He's as good a Game 3 pitcher as you'll find."

I had to listen to people on the radio crap all over the Cubs this morning too. "This team (dodgers) is constructed well to take out the Cubs in a five game series." What does that even mean!? "Like every other team in the NL, the Cubs wont be able to contain Manny in this series." Uh, well, how about them having to contain a team with a .354 OBP? Look - I can be nervous all I want, but it's because I'm a Cubs fan, not because of some idiotic LA talking points.

 

edit - I also heard an analyst persist that brad freaking lidge will be the key to the phi/mil series. I mean, yes, lidge has had an amazing year. no blown saves right? thats great. but he's not the best player on his own team...he's not even the best pitcher on his own team!

One thing that isn't being mentioned is that Zambrano will be making his start in Chavez Ravine, aka Sinkerballer Heaven.

Alright...so I'm definitely pumped for the playoffs. I have to work on Wednesday though, so I'll miss the game. I'm going to be following ESPN's scoring alerts on my phone while the game is going on.

 

Bring on the Dodgers. I'm so ready.
