  1. I hate baseball. It's too painful to watch other teams and fans be happy.
  2. Really? I lived in China for about 18 months. Where you going to live? Why ya going there? I'll be in Dalian teaching English and not watching the Cubs. Dalian gets pretty cold...that's up near Harbin correct? Anyway I was in Beijing doing the same thing (teaching english). You're going to love it!! Sweet. I need something to soothe the pain of this season. I guess moving 6000 miles from Chicago is a start.

  4. I'm moving to China in November and will be gone for all of next season. Thinking about this is the only thing that is making me happy. I can't take this anymore.
  5. I'll thank you now, because we are going to win tonight.
  6. I loved this article. Whoever said winning our first world series in 100 years was going to be easy? If we win tomorrow, I'm going to be really excited about this team again.
  7. Watching that Boise St. comeback still gives me chills. Holy Hell. Umm, Go Cubs?
  8. Yeah, if anyone doesn't plan on using their password tomorrow, please let me know. I'll definitely buy tickets on it. I don't know why, but I think we still have a shot for the NLCS. Just PM me if you don't plan on using it. Thanks.
  9. Wow. Anyone want my Brewers NLCS password for 17 cents?
  10. The fact that they are trying to get you to pay 6x as much on stubhub doesn't bother me that much. The part that bothers me is where it says, "Tickets STILL available on stubhub." Wait a second! They are STILL available? Oh man, thanks for the heads up Chicago Cubs. I better hurry before they sell out on stubhub in the next minute. Wow, I'm so lucky they gave me the heads up!
  11. I'm pretty sure, "Thank you for registering" is the worst email subject title you can receive, other than "Genital Herpes test results: Positive".
  12. I agree. Now I'm single, unemployed, and back home in Chicago. I will not miss a single Cubs pitch in the month of October. (Aside from when I have to go down the long winding ramp to use the bleachers bathroom). Stupid old stadium with its out-of-date amenities!
  13. NL: Phillies over Brewers in 4 Cubs over Dodgers in 4 Cubs over Phillies in 6 AL: Rays over White Sox in 4 Red Sox over Angels in 5 Rays over Red Sox in 7 WS: Cubs over Rays in 5
  14. My pics from the game tonight. Hopefully the Cubs can copy this very same scene three more times this season. I'm not very picture savvy. I hope that these are viewable. http://img508.imageshack.us/img508/4233/001nl0.th.jpg http://img508.imageshack.us/img508/4328/003km4.th.jpg http://img508.imageshack.us/img508/3038/004ju9.th.jpg
  15. For him to have a great start in Game 3. (Which I have no doubt he will do)
  16. I whole heartedly agree with you. Come this time next week, the board is collectively going to be saying things like "What a great team", "They are unbeatable", "They really showed up to play", or the complete opposite, such as "They looked pathetic", "I can't believe they choked like this", "What an awful performance", etc... It's really remarkable to think that we are going to judge this season based on the outcome of the playoffs, which could possibly be as little as three games. These past few days my mind has been racing back and forth between thoughts of when the Cubs were super hot (multiple winning streaks) and when they were really cold (swept at the cell, early to mid-September performance). I pray that the Cubs turn out to be on one of their hot spells, but I have absolutely no clue if it'll happen or not. I can actually see in my head the Cubs blowing through the competition on an 11-1 run or something like that, yet at the same time I can actually see them getting swept in the first round, and all of us falling into deep depression. Damn, I"m nervous.
  17. I would definitely go if some of the players were going to be in attendance. As much as I want to hear Mayor Daley make some lames jokes at the podium and cheer on the Cubbies, I think I'll pass.
  18. Where are your seats? I bought 2 in Section 544 and am still mulling going. Comparable tickets are going for 2-3 times what I paid, and selling them would help me pay for the Cubs playoff tickets I bought, but it would be cool to see baseball history. Section 540 One game playoff would just be cool as hell to see. I guess I could sell but I have them set up for will call so I probably screwed myself there. I'm pretty excited about going to see a one game playoff tomorrow, followed by the Cubs on Wednesday and Thursday. It's gonna be one hell of a three day stretch.

I got a pair in section 101 (center field). I'm going but I'm gonna arrive early and try and get a table in the Miller Lite bullpen bar area by right field. It's first come first served. Any interest in doing that? Any ticket will gain you access to it. They have patio tables too.
  20. There's demand. They are selling for about double face on ebay right now.
  21. He also discusses the impact that Big Z will have as the Game 3 pitcher. "Cubs ace (?) Carlos Zambrano has had an interesting last few weeks. First, he had a tired arm that some thought was something serious, then he threw a no-hitter, then he got lit up a couple of times. So, where is he now? That's unclear. All we know is that he'll start Game 3 behind Ryan Dempster and Rich Harden. A former teammate of Zambrano was asked recently if Zambrano was up for the pressure of starting a Game 1 of the playoffs. "No,'' the teammate said. "He has a big heart and big stones, but he'll be way too fired up. He can't even calm down for the first game of the season, let alone the first game of the playoffs.'' Maybe he'll be different in Game 3. He's as good a Game 3 pitcher as you'll find." I'm so glad I joined the NSBB board. People on here know so much more than the self-proclaimed "baseball experts". Unbelievable. One thing that isn't being mentioned is that Zambrano will be making his start in Chavez Ravine, aka Sinkerballer Heaven. He's actually starting Game 2, which is taking place at Wrigley Field.

  23. Drawing ended today. Results will be announced on Thursday.
  24. The Dodgers record is worse than the Brewers.
