I have two classes tomorrow.

I will be completely worthless for both of which.

No way in hell i'll be focusing on anything.

prediction on # of pages in game thread? 100+?

100 sounds right, but what do you think the number will be after the game?

itll be at least 120

It'll be more if they lose.

I got actually physically ill today at work because of nerves. I'm good now, though.

Cubs had better win to calm some of my nerves. I can't shake this nagging little voice that tells me Demp is going to get lit up tomorrow.

Seriously, same way. I don't know whats wrong with me. People who read this and don't have such a passionate sports following will laugh because they don't understand.

I might need to take a xanax to get through work tomorrow.

I have to learn to stop telling my wife about these things. She was like "Seriously,Erik? It's a GAME. It's not that important!!"

Women just don't understand.

Yeah, I won't be in any game threads. My friend is having people over for every playoff game.

Probably for the best anyway.

Last night I was talking to my girlfriend and I said "i'm nervous" and she said "for what?" and I said "promise you won't laugh?", she said yes, and then I told her I was nervous for the Cubs game, and she laughed anyways.

Actually I feel the opposite, I'm looking for the Cubs to light up Lowe and Dempster to give the Cubs atleast 7 strong innings.

Up until just now, I wasn't nervous. Now I'm all strung out. It's not really a bad nervous though. Last year before they started I had a sick feeling, this year I'm excited to see what they can do.

I echo those who say they are already physically sick to their stomach. Lowe has given up 2 earned runs in his last 6 starts. The Cubs haven't really put up any big numbers offensively against the Dodgers recently, and the Dodgers bullpen is very good. Not to mention Manny has been hitting everything in sight and is so huge in October.

Look at who Lowe faced in those 6 starts. Also, the Dodgers pitching numbers are helped by Dodger Stadium big time. They have like a mid 4's ERA on the road.

Man, that sure doesn't sound like a keeper to me.

Which is why I think the Dodgers are due a really bad pitching series against the NL's Top 2 best offense...

Manager Lou Piniella said he won't announce his Game 1 starting lineup until Wednesday. But if Tuesday's workout was any indication, Kosuke Fukudome may be in the starting lineup and playing right field.

Fukudome batted in the first session with the regulars, and Piniella may be hesitant to stick DeRosa in right field because of his sore left calf. The question seems to be whether DeRosa can start at second base, or if Mike Fontenot will get the nod.

I have a feeling DeRosa won't play

Soriano, LF

Theriot, SS

Lee, 1B

Ramirez, 3B

Edmonds, CF

Soto, C

Fontenot, 2B

Fukudome, RF

Dempster, P

is my guess...

Game time weather:

Partly Cloudy, 20% chance of precipitation.

Temperature: 57°F (Feels like: 54°F)

Wind blowing in from LF at 15 mph.

OhmyGod it's going to be Freezing in that ballpark. That feels like "54" is BS, especially inside that windtunnel of a ballpark with a 15mph wind. Looks like I'm busting back out the winter cubs coat for the first time since april. And the long sleeve underarmour.

It'll be about 40 degrees warmer at game time in Dodger Stadium.

There's never a bad time to brag about LA weather is there?

and that could be midnight tonight.

I am having morning practice tomorrow. The kids (freshmen) whined" Oh coach you promised no more morning practices once school started." I have my seniors trained, they said without hesitation in unison "the Cubs game is on!"

One freshmen said "Oh, is that why you are in a Cubs shirt?" Ah, to be young and foolish and now I am no longer young.
