  1. Ya, reminds me of rehabing a kitchen and bath after my house burnt down
  2. Any news from the legal front on him? were charges dropped?
  3. Put it in dred locks
  4. Is their a poll or Vegas odds of when that sign will be stolen?
  5. Comparing the passer ratings across eras isn't the best way to do it because of how much the game has changed. Terry Bradshaw's 84.7 QB rating in 1978 doesn't look that good until you realize it was the second best in the league that year. Eli Manning's career high of 93.1 in 2009 looks great compared to that until you realize that it was only good enough for 11th in the league.Troy Aikman's 89.5 QB rating was the second-best in the league in 1992 but would have only been 11th this year. You have to compare Eli to the other QB's who are playing now. He's been top-10 in passer rating once (7th in 2011) and in completion percentage once (9th in 2010) while being top-7 in interceptions thrown five times in his seven seasons. He's been top-10 in TD's six times and passing yards four times in seven years but he's also throwing a ton of passes (top-10 five times). Unless you're completely terrible (which no one would argue Eli is) throwing a lot of passes is going to turn into a lot of completions and touchdowns. Rodgers, Brees, Brady, Romo and Stafford were all clearly better than Eli this year. Roethlisberger and Rivers were slightly worse this year but have been far better over the past five years. Schaub was on his way to having a better year before getting hurt and he's also been better in the past (four straight 92+ QB rating years). And if we're looking at the past few years, we have to include Peyton in there also as being better. So now we're looking at having eight guys (excluding Stafford since he's only had one full, good year) who have clearly been better than Eli over the past 3-5 years. Guys who were, at best, the ninth best at their position while they played aren't HOF worthy. good analysis, but Brady trumps him in instantly with the HOT wife category.
  6. Ah, the age-old story of how a rabbit slayed the worlds greatest monster. If only Carter would have had the "Holy hand grenade."
  7. This might be the most depressing thing I've heard all off season. Well there is that guy who was on the Cardinals last year. They say he knows how to play the game the right way. and he is scrappy!!
  8. Fat Lady your up next
  9. Why? why do you have to be like that? Is it just in your nature to be an ass? Have a comment about the cross-dressing caveman commercial? Just relax and enjoy the game
  10. I would have to shoot the TV if they would have won and Robin Robert on GMA and anybody else even remotely acquainted with Louisiana would pull out the "WHO DAT" and "New Awlin"
  11. That is why I quit buying Cubs Calendars! Add Zambrano and probably Garza.... buy a calendar, get Z and Garza to sign it and when Z wins the Cy Young this year for Miami (tough for me to say that) the calendar then doubles in value.
  12. Teams like the Yankees mid-season will be once a middle reliever is rotated to starting pitcher and Joba the hut takes a mi-season nose dive they will be looking for anybody, and they will be looking to replace Jorge Posada Legend) if Martin or cervelli don't seem to be working
  13. Wonder what we could get at the trade deadline for Soto/Wood combo (if Kerry doesn'r have a blister) to a contending team
  14. no, that's pretty damn high for a middle reliever. he's a pretty good middle reliever but not an elite one. he's averaged barely more than 50 innings the last 3 years and his whip during that time is 1.355. he should probably be making like $2-2.5m. If we can get him for 2.5 it would be great or even three with incentives, When we aren't in it in July we trade him and Bird as a package to a contender. That's if he is not on the DL with a blister.
  15. Disagree, keep until trade deadline, and hope he starts well and then trade for some pitching prospects.
  16. I am looking forward to .05 cent beer night and "down with disco night" Both worked so well for the Whitesox and the Indians
  17. the front office is just one trade away from being put into the same category as MacPhail and Hendry. Marshall was one of the few bright spots on the who pitching staff, and my daughter is pissed because she thought he was cute.
  18. He is not!!! He has a legit shot at a Japanese or Venezuelan pro-ball.
  19. there isn't enough fast food places within walking distance of the ball-park. You have to wait to long for your food at Harry's Pff...there's a Taco Bell and a McDonalds right across the street. Fat guy heaven. Dang, haven't been up in a cpl years and when I was, I wouldn't look for a TB. I guess we need to use that particular information to lure him
  20. there isn't enough fast food places within walking distance of the ball-park. You have to wait to long for your food at Harry's
  21. Nobody is pointing out the obvious, Mike Fontenot!!! Duh! #-o
  22. Offer him a 5 year deal with a player option for the 6th and a team option for the 7th. I think he's a better bet to best Pujols OPS during the next five years. That said, I think he's going to the AL to become a DH like his pappy that he doesn't speak to. I really like him and wish he'd sign with the Cubs though. Agreed, and keep it to those terms, After the Soriano debacle I hope we never sign a 10 yr contract again unless they are 22 and under
  23. Spins but doesn't do anything? That sounds effective. Sounds like a homerun at Wrigley. sign him!!
  24. Sure wish there could have been an hour long ESPN special about which team he was going to go to, and then he could give the procedes to charity. Sorry, that's already been done.
