Someone needs to shorten Pie's swing and quick

Someone needs to leave Pie's swing alone and give him two months of starting without being yanked after every 0-for-4.

so ship him off to the D-Rays or Royals is what you're saying? Or better yet...Iowa? He doesn't deserve 2 months of sucking. Especially considering how inconsistent this line up can be as it is.

Actually, there's zero reason that Cubs shouldn't be able to handle Pie's development, even if it basically takes an entire season to figure out whether or not he can click. A player with as much potential as Pie has, as young as he is, as much as he's shown in the minors and that he may be able to anchor the outfield for the next decade+, he needs to be given the room to develop. If the Cubs wised up, it wouldn't be a huge deal to leave a lineup slot to do that...the probem is, they have another hole at SS that they refuse to fix, and instead of trying to fix that probelm, they're gonna jerk around Pie instead.

Even with theriot sucking like crazy...our offense is pretty potent. Between Lee, Ramirez, Fukudome, Soriano (if he's healthy), and even Soto they have plenty of firepower that they can have one struggling young guy in there while he figures it out.

How do you know he'll suck if he plays for two months straight?

And with his defense, yeah, I'd be tempted to leave him in even if he did.

Just got home... how did Sori get hurt? Any update as far as how long he'll be out?

imagine the most ridiculous way possible... that's it.

The more Reed hits, the more likely Pie sits.

Considering Pie's 0-4 with 3 more K's... I'm becoming more and more convinced that that's a good thing.

Tripped over Dusty Baker's toothpick?

He hurt himself coming down from that ridiculous hop he does before every catch. Last out of the top of the first, he strained his calf.

Seriously.

I'd love to assure you that he did not injure himself hopping before he caught a fly ball. :banghead:

He hurt himself doing his stupid hop while he was catching a routine pop fly. Strained calf muscle is the diagnosis.

Something strangely poetic about that.

Its tough, because if you said you wanted to stick by Pie in the off-season this is where you gotta swear by it. He's looking about as bad as you can look as a major league player, and if you really want to stick by him and want him to develop, nows the time to keep him in.

Cubs.com says he's day-to-day.
