NSD is Wednesday.

Karl Dorrell had a rather impressive recruiting class (top 10 class) and while a lot of the players who committed under his watch started visiting other schools after he was fired, Rick Neuheisel (along with DeWayne Walker and Norm Chow) has done a great job of saving the class. UCLA has only lost LB Uona Kavienga (to BYU) so far though RB Milton Knox (Notre Dame) and DE Datone Jones (Oregon) are still exploring other options. Hopefully UCLA can close the deal on those two local kids and score OL Hamani Stevens to wrap up a top-10 class.

How's your school doing?

We all know Notre Dame's story. QB Dayne Crist, WR Michael Floyd, S Jamoris Slaughter, and a host of great commits make this class, barring any Greg Little flake-outs, the best one ND has had perhaps since Lou's heyday. Rivals.com has their class #2, just behind Urban Scum at Florida.

Ball State is pulling some good commitments too. After losing Indiana's Mr. Football, QB Paul McIntosh, to Army (???), the Cardinals regrouped and pulled in a 2/3 star guy from Texas named Kelly Page who will be the heir apparent to Nate Davis. He originally committed to Oregon before the Ducks got another QB and Page decided to explore his options. Never did I think I'd see the day where we got a Pac-10 defector. The Cardinals also have pulled in a host of decent MAC-level talent. Brady Hoke may not be able to coach but he can sure recruit with the best of them.

I still have four years of eligibility left so please present offers from your schools in this thread. PM's are also welcome if you want to keep some of the gifts, er, benefits private. Thanks.

Whoever gets Pryor wins a MNC in the next three or four years.

OU's class looks really good on offense.

For Mizzou:

Blaine Gabbert - top rated pro-style QB in the country

Dan Hoch - top player from Iowa; top-20 nationally ranked OL

Andrew Jones - #2 ranked player from Missouri, behind Gabbert; top 15 TE in country

From my understanding they are the front-runners (or one of them) to land WR Aaron Boyd, the #1 player from Kentucky and a top-40 WR in the nation.

This will easily be Pinkel's best class, and should be a top 25 class nationally. Pinkel has done a great job taking back the state of Missouri, with 8 of the state's top 12 players committed to Mizzou.

i really hope UK gets Boyd. he's a lexington kid, and the younger brother of former UK player Shane Boyd. i think they've got a good chance.

Louisiana Tech has the #2 class in the WAC behind Fresno St. That's a good place to start for second year coach Derek Dooley.

OU did very well. If Texas can get Darrell Scott, it will help them out a lot. ESPN gives Texas a better class than Rivals.

Mark my words, if Penn State gets Pryor, Jay Paterno will have him ruined by the time he graduates.

For reference, see Morelli, Anthony.

Lucky for him, he's going to Ohio St.

IU has a couple 3 star recruits as usual. Nobody I ever really heard of.

Penn State has a miserable recruiting class, currently #40 on Rivals, with 0 5-star recruits, 5 4-star recruits (4 LB's and a RB, so basically 5 of the same guy), plus a bunch of 3 and 2-star linemen

Auburn's recruiting class is ranked #16 at rivals, but they were ranked #7 in 2007 and #10 in 2006, so this has been characterized as a largely mediocre class. Welcome to the Nick Saban era in the state of Alabama.

One of the top RB recruits in the nation, Enrique Davis (212lb 4.39 forty), decomitted after Auburn made the shift to the spread offense in December. Our new offensive coordinator, Tony Franklin, has since visited Davis and tried to convince him that he'll still get a lot of carries with the new offense. If I had to guess, he'll end up signing elsewhere..Tennessee perhaps? Auburn is already very deep at RB, so this wouldn't be a huge loss.

Auburn does have 2 five star recruits (1 DE and 1 OL), 5 four star recruits (3 ATH, 1 RB, 1 DE) and 17 three star recruits. Tuberville has been fairly good at picking sleepers over the years, so I can only hope that some of the three star recruits overachieve.

Indiana, as per usual, has the worst class in the Big Ten. It's close to Northwestern's, but far behind the rest of the conference. Of course, the coaching situation was in flux. The Hoosiers brought in five three-star players, headlined by Darius Willis (#41 RB), Cortez Smith (#48 CB) and 6-foot-5 DE Kyle Kozak (#36 prep schooler). Willis, who's from Indianapolis (Franklin Central HS), was a big get for Coach Lynch. They beat out some big time schools for his commitment -- Michigan, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Boston College and Illinois.

Hopefully, IU won't lose its best commit on signing day like last year, when the 37th ranked player overall, and top-ranked safety, Jerimy Finch of Indianapolis, signed with Florida instead of IU. He was poised to be perhaps the best recruit ever to come to IU.

Tennessee's had a pretty crappy recruiting season, but it's hard not to expect it when half the coaching staff leaves for other jobs.

We're doing okay under the circumstances, though. We've got three four stars right now and are well in the running for three or four more. We don't have too many great needs right now (depth on D-line is the worst), so it's not imperative we have a bunch of guys who can jump in immediately.

There are a number of three stars who look quite good who will likely be playing for us in a couple years. Gotta rebound next year, though, with a stable coaching staff.

South Carolina is on the cusp of a top 25 class. Signing Tommy Streeter and Chaz Sutton will ease the blow of missing out on most of our late targets. Things aren't looking to hot with Streeter at the moment, though.

If Fitz can close NU's recruiting class by landing Martin Bayless, I'll be pretty happy. It's already a solid class. It started with 4 offensive line commits and while they lost momentum in December, the coaching changes really helped. We won't have a QB in the class, but the offensive line recruits will certainly pay off in a couple of years. Plus, it's nice to see some more success in the Chicago area. And even better, we finished the class with a couple of victories over Stanford, who had been killing us in the fall.
