Fukudome won't sign with Padres

 

The Padres were informed Tuesday that they're out of the bidding for Kosuke Fukudome.

 

Fukudome didn't announce his decision, but it's believed that he'll pick the Cubs over the Padres, White Sox and Rangers. If the Padres had signed Fukudome, they probably would have gone with Scott Hairston and/or Chase Headley in left field. Now they'll again focus on landing two outfielders, with Mike Cameron and Geoff Jenkins among the possibilities. Dec. 11 - 10:37 pm et

Kosuke is his given name, Fukudome is his family name. He's likely to wear Kosuke on his jersey for the aforementioned reasons.

The way I see it is only 2.5 mil more than 10 mil per. 2.5 mil is nothing for the Cubs.

And a scant 10 mil over 2.5 mil a year.
