While this is certainly a terrible deal for the Cubs, I can't help but wonder whether or not Jacque quietly demanded a trade out of town. He's never seemed happy here, and may have pushed the issue behind closed doors.

 

Of course, this probably means that Pie and Murton will start next year in CF and RF (unless God forbid that Rotoworld prediction of Luis Gonzalez comes to fruition.)

 

You can rest assured that Hendry will dig up some past his prime veteran to take time away from those guys.

 

Don't worry, Luis Gonzalez is on his way.

I just asked my Tigers fan in the office about the trade. When I was upset he asked me "What? You really like Jacque Jones?" and I responded "No, I hate Omar Infante" and he said "Good, you should he sucks" I then asked him for a player comparison and he responded with "Neifi Perez". Now I know why the Tigers didn't go anywhere this year..

 

So that sounds like a player I want!

What was Roberts like in the minors? He kind of scares me because of the thread of Roids as does Tejada.

it sucks that hendry couldn't deal Dempster to the Tigers in this trade. Hendry saved three million dollars in this deal and created room in the outfield for Fukodome. A fews years back this board was high on Infante , he's a guy that can play all over the diamond and has some speed and power. Huge upgrade of Fontento. Hopefully Hendry can find ways to continue to shed payroll by punching a ticket of town for Dempster,Ohman,Marquis, to get us in line to make some impact moves.
