That what has it do with?

Is that English?

He just missed a "to" in there! Jeez!

where exactly can a "to" be placed in there to make it a decent sentence? ;)

Why is there no market for Jacque Jones? GMJ got a very lucrative contract and look at his numbers. What did Vernon Wells slug this year? What did Beltran in 2005? Rowand in 2005? How come Jones is the only guy who can't have an off year? He's still proven he can play good defense in center field and he averages 22 home runs a full season.

There's an ugly business going around here now where every mediocre player gets compared to Mark DeRosa, and this Infante comparison is simply out of left field. When was Infante as highly regarded as Barrett? Michael Barrett was Baseball America's #6 prospect in 1999. Infante showed up at #95 behind Ramon Vazquez in 2002. Are we grasping at straws here yet? You can find oddball justifications for picking up just about anyone. I think Tony Armas Jr. is ready to have that breakout season.

Typical Cubs offseason:

Cubs needs: OF power bat

Cubs acquire: Weak hitting MI's Kaz Matsui and Omar Infante

Cubs lose: OF semi power bat

Doesn't this move make it less likely that they would sign Matsui? I really don't see the point of adding two light hitting MI's, when you already got Theriot, Fontenot, Cedeno on the roster.

That's disappointing. Apparently, the Cubs were just making things up when they said there was a market for Jacque Jones.

I can't think of many other players currently on rosters in MLB that would be worse options than Omar Infante.

Cubs send Greg Maddux and Jacque Jones and receive Cesar Izturis and Omar Infante.

According to the Detroit Free Press, the Tigers and Cubs are close to swapping Jacque Jones for Omar Infante.

An announcement is expected to come as soon as Monday. Jones is set to make $5.5 million in the final year of his contract and would likely play left field for the Tigers, giving them a left-handed bat and improving their defense.

Serisouly, what in the hell is Hendry thinking, how many crappy infielders does he want? Its just sad how stupid this guy is

While this is certainly a terrible deal for the Cubs, I can't help but wonder whether or not Jacque quietly demanded a trade out of town. He's never seemed happy here, and may have pushed the issue behind closed doors.

Of course, this probably means that Pie and Murton will start next year in CF and RF (unless God forbid that Rotoworld prediction of Luis Gonzalez comes to fruition.)

You can rest assured that Hendry will dig up some past his prime veteran to take time away from those guys.

You can't think of a worse player to acquire than a 26 year old player with the ability to play both middle infield positions, hit 16 HR's as a 22 year old in a pitcher's park, and only makes 1.3 million? I can: Kaz Matsui

Why is everyone so upset about trading Jacque? Pie finally gets to play, and has the ability to outproduce Jones next year. Seems like the board is suffering from some serious Dusty-itis.

He already has. Omar Infante can play the OF AND the IF.

Don't worry, Luis Gonzalez is on his way.

Omar Infante career: .253 .298 .386

Corey Patterson career: .258 .298 .414

Why Corey deserves to be run out of town: He plays outfield

Why Infante deserves to trade a better player for him: He plays infield.

Okay, now I get it.

Trib confirms and says Pie likely to start in CF: CLICK HERE

Oh boy, that article makes it seem like Infante is the backup plan/part time platoon partner for Pie in CF.

Making a signing of Matsui still possible. ](*,)
