That's got to be coachspeak, right? Gray is an oaf, he's going to get brutalized in the NBA.

I dont know, but hes been able to score so far in the preseason. Hes big and slow on D, but offensively he has shown potential.

Kevin Martin and Kelenna Azubuike will be All-Stars.

Hey Im not saying I agree with the idea, but hes averaged 12 points in 18 mins so far in preseason.

More Bryant speculation. I found this part to be most interesting:

The Bulls reportedly have made star forward Luol Deng untouchable, so the Lakers made it known they wouldn't agree to a deal unless the incoming package includes center Ben Wallace, a choice between guards Ben Gordon and Kirk Hinrich, and others.

But when the Chicago Tribune reported that Bryant wants to play with Wallace, it meant the Bulls would have to change the package to perhaps include Tyrus Thomas or Joakim Noah, forward Andres Nocioni and a first-round pick.

Word is the Lakers are very interested in Nocioni, a former Argentine star who averaged 14.1 points and 5.7 rebounds for Chicago last season. But by rule, he can't be traded until after Dec. 15.

There also has been speculation in Chicago the Bulls want to find out how good this team will be before making a major trade.

So, Gordon, Noah, Nocioni, and a first-round pick, plus some way to balance out the moneys? Sign me up for that one.

I'd be floored. I'd do that deal so quick my own head might snap off. I doubt the Lakers would go for it. Surely they'll want more than that.

Its just not a desirable place to be walking around randomly. UC tips: don't park in the lots, for god's sake. You can park safely on the street 3 blocks to the southeast of the United Center by Moretti's. No tickets issued (restaurant is located at Jackson and west of Ashland) at all. Parking in the lots near the UC is minimum 15 bucks, and most are 20-25.

Don't stay there. If you want, stay in Rosemont and ride the blue line for an hour and you're at the Medical Center stop and its a 4 block walk north to the stadium.

There's not much of a scene around the UC worth hanging around for.

Hope this helps.

It's not "fear for your life and belongings" status as long as you stay on major streets. During Bulls games there is a lot of police presence and its not really that bad at all. The neighborhood is actually improving. There is a college and high school nearby and of course the Medical Center to the south. And yes, take Mark's advise and park near Moretti's.

You could stay on Michigan ave where all the action is, and then just take one of the shuttles to the UC that run before/after every Bulls game.

I did this, it worked out well. Really cuts transportation costs, and there's no parking fee at all.

Except for the parking fees you have to pay at the hotel, which are not cheap at all.

I'd want to see the full deal, but that sounds incredibly do-able.

Man that would be a great deal. Sucks that the Bulls can't trade Nocioni until December though (even though I love Noch, I'd do this in a second.

I'm sure they'd rather do that as well, but I don't see how they have any leverage. He wants out. They want him gone. He can opt out after this season. Dallas isn't going to deal equal value for him. New York has a pile of crap they can deal. I suppose Phoenix could deal Marion and others for him, but that just makes Phoenix much stronger and LA a ton weaker, and it's in their division. Kobe would veto a trade anywhere else.

They're going to have to mae a tough decision. They can lose him for nothing, or get 70 cents on the dollar for him. I'd rather have 70 cents than nothing.

Unless the Lakers get a bunch of expiring contracts in return, I'd rather just let Kobe walk rather than get stuck with some crappy contracts and not very good players in return. At least if you let Kobe walk you have $20M freed up for next offseason.

It seems to me that having $20m freed up in the NBA isn't all that useful.

I'd much rather have $20M freed up that get a bunch of crappy veterans who were only included in the trade to balance out the money and are signed for the next two years. And I would say that if you're the Lakers and you have $20M to spend in the offseason, it's very useful. We're not talking about Memphis here or another team where FA's aren't likely to want to go. It's the Lakers.

Bryant is funny. He wants Wallace because that way he will get 35 shots a game. That man sure does love to shoot.

Thats good news that LA is high on Noc. To me he is nothign special...the David Eckstein of the NBA.

He is much more than a David Eckstein of the NBA. Nocioni is more of a Mark DeRosa. He won't kill you with scoring, he won't kill you with rebounding, he won't kill you with assists, etc. But he does almost everything above average, including the ability to play multiple positions (SF, PF, SG) even if he is not ideal for the position, he creates spacing on the floor, he can drive, drive and kick, hit a three. On the defensive end he gets into opponents heads (not as well as someone like Dennis Rodman did, but effective none the less), he is very physical, has no problem putting his body on the line. Best of all, he goes balls to the wall every play or every game. He'll never be a super star, but he is an essential piece for a winning team.

The Kobe Bryant-to-Chicago trade talks are very real, and they've been real for a while.

The Los Angeles Lakers and Chicago Bulls have been having daily discussions about Bryant trade possibilities for at least the past week, with Bryant's no-trade clause throwing a unique wrench into the situation, according to sources.

The Lakers are asking for a package built around Luol Deng, Ben Gordon, Tyrus Thomas and Joakim Noah, which is more than Chicago is willing to surrender. Also, Bryant would not want to play in Chicago if the Bulls surrendered all four of those players, believing there would not be enough talent left to compete for a championship, and he would veto that trade even if the Bulls and Lakers were both in favor of it.

One source said the Bulls' supposed opposition to including Deng in any deal had been overstated in recent media reports.

Until the Lakers back off their demands some, this won't happen.

they ain't going to get all of that. and either nocioni or wallace would have to be included, possibly hinrich. those guys don't make enough money.

I could live with getting Hinrich, Gordon, and Thomas in return.

Hell, I would love if you got those three back. Start Thabo and give him an incredible scorer to pass to. Start Joe Smith at the 4 to go with Thabo, Kobe, Deng and Wallace and that team blasts the East out of the way.

Good that is an absolutely ridiculous asking price. I'd love Kobe, but absolutely no way in hell for that price.

I'm mainly taking Hinrich because that would help balance out the salaries. It's either Hinrich or Ben Wallace and I DO NOT want Ben Wallace.

I don't see a deal working without one of Wallace, Hinrich, Deng, or a 3rd team. I wouldn't trade Hinrich or Deng, especially considering Gordon would probably go in addition. Be nice if the Bulls could trade Noc or Joe Smith.
