The Rangers are up 27-3 on the Orioles in the 9th. They scored 5 in the 4th, 9 in the 6th, 10 in the 8th, and 3 in the 9th. Saltalamacchia has 2 HR and 7 RBI. This is game 1 of the double header.

And actually just as I typed this, Vazquez hit a 3 run HR. It's 30-3 now.

I saw that score on my cbssportsline live scoring (unfortunately I don't have any Rangers) and couldn't believe it.

Wow.

30 runs?

There are 3-week periods where we don't score 30 runs. I couldn't even imagine scoring 30 in 1 game.

Waiting to see the highlights on TV now.

Look at the headline on the Orioles site, "Orioles fall in opener of doubleheader"

Hah, ya think?

The 30 runs were the most in the Major Leagues since 1900. The Boston Red Sox scored 29 runs in a game in 1950 and the Chicago White Sox matched that in 1955. Chicago of the National League scored 36 runs in a game in 1897.

The Rangers only scored in 4 innings of the game. 5, 9, 10, 6. Paul Shuey gave up 9 in 1 and 1/3 to close it out and save the O's bullpen for the 2nd game.

I thought for sure he retired a few years ago. Of course, a beating like this might warrant bringing pitchers out of retirement.

I want to hear some of the O's announcers comments. That should be entertaining. Like how about after the 2nd granny.

ESPNews said it was the Chicago Colts. It's impressive that the Rangers didn't have the benefit of the Cleveland Spiders.

I believe he came out of retirement this season. I think this game will send him right back.
