Can't wait for all of the "Jeter wuz robbed!?!!1!!!" histrionics.

 

they're actually correct this time around.

 

I don't think you could go wrong with either. Morneau had a hell of a season. It's pretty amazing how he turned it around. He had a .689 OPS (.274 OBP yuck) in April and in June and July he was a monster and ended up with some solid stats.

Carlos Guillen was only on 36% of the ballots.

 

It's funny because all of the writers are mystified as to why the Tigers made the playoffs and won the american league. The answer's right in front of them and they still couldn't see it.

 

It's a disgrace. At least the voters got the team right (Johan Santana).

Yeah, Jeter and Guillen had very similar seasons. I guess Guillen just isn't clutch enough.

Doesn't the BBWAA ban viewing actual statistics? This award is based on value, not production. Anyway, worst screw job since yesterday! The two MVPs combined for less than $800,000 in salary this year.
