  1. 158/180. Not bad, although I spent the last minute trying to remember how to spell Grudzielanek. Besides him I got everything from 03 on and really all the big names before that. 1991 and 2000 were my worst years with three missed each year. It must mean that I am getting old if I can vividly remember those early 90's teams.
  2. I can't believe no one has mentioned the GlennAllen Hill rooftop shot back in 2000. Me and a couple friends were just talking about that one the other day, what a shot! http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3017957919029122909#docid=-5420529321900967793
  3. LOL, he was always an interesting character. Not that anyone cares, but he actually pitched for my home town independent team (Sioux City Explorers) for awhile back in the mid 90's. If I remember correctly he sorta sucked his last year here. Has he been pitching in obscurity for all these years, or did he retire and is now coming back?
  4. google "shocker" (aka Shock her) lol, I wondered what she was doing. As for the trade, I think that Baltimore will be a good landing spot for Hill and a place that will allow him to work through his problems (hopefully he can). As for the PTBNL, if Hill does indeed return to his 07 form (unlikely as it may be), would we be looking at a top 10 type prospect?
  5. Sad that it has come to this, especially considering his value a year ago. I highly expect to get a no-name low level minor leaguer that will never amount to anything, which is a far cry from last year when we could have possibly got someone like Roberts.
  6. That was my first reaction, but it was obviously baseless speculation, otherwise Uribe would have signed here and not a minor league deal with San Fran.
  7. Wow that is interesting, but there had to be something better available, right? I assume Font will be the starter and Miles will fill a utility role. I guess it's goodbye to Derosa.
  8. Not sure if this was posted yet or not, but this confirms that the Cubs have talked with Furcal's people and have shown some interest. Clearly seems like he is a down on the priority list, but it's always interesting to hear who we are talking to. From Rotoworld btw.
  9. actually it is probably more like 40%, unless prior is exempt from paying taxes like the rest of us. 40% of 15 million is still a lot of money for playing a game.
  10. I don't think he has a ton a value at this point anyways.
  11. That's correct. I think mlb.tv may have some spring games, but not Extra Innings. Today's game is actually on MLB.tv. I wish they would give you a free preview of it though, because it was terrible last year and I don't feel like wasting that much money again unless they improved it.

  13. Just wanted to post so I was part of the 200's. :yahoo:
  14. well I hope for their sake that it was a minor league deal with nothing more than a promise to give him an invite in ST.
  15. Kirby Puckett??? How is he undeserving?
  16. Man, I thought this was over!!! I hope we can hang onto one of Marshall or Gallagher (preferably Gallagher) if we do end up making this deal, so there is an alternative to Dempster in the rotation. Please God let there be an alternative!!!
  17. Dear Lord no I could live with Byrd, but I don't want to trade much of value to get him.
  18. I might be the only one, but I'm firmly entrenched in the Lieber camp. He's a dramatic improvement over Dempster or Marquis. I don't know about dramatic, I would say marginal improvement. However I would rather they stay away and give the kids a shot. Eh, I think Lieber's a pretty safe bet to be league average. Dempster, on the other hand, is just about a guarantee to be well below average. I hear you, I don't want any part of Dempster in the rotation. Personally I like Marquis a bit more next year, but I guess I could live with Leiber. Now if we sign Leiber, do we ramp up our efforts to trade Marquis or do we have both in the back of the rotation?

  20. Thank God, hopefully this is finally over and Cedeno gets a shot at short!!! Sean Gallagher, too. Yeah, why even attempt to go after leiber when you have someone like Gallagher or Marshall that you could give a shot.
  21. As for these two points, I am not so sure I am liking either one. Byrd had a very solid year last year (.307/.355/.459), but he has only had 2 previous seasons with an OPS above .700. I guess I could live with him as a backup getting the occasional start, but he had better not take much PT from Pie. Honestly I would rather have a cheaper in-house option. Does anyone think Leiber is much better than Dempster or Marquis? Well, I am not a fan of either potential move.

  23. Didn't realize that Glaus had a player option, thought it was a team option.
  24. Help me out here, cause I can't seem to find a reason that the Jays would make this trade. Good move by the Cards getting out of the 3 years and 33 million they owed Rolen.
  25. Here is my impression from watching him this last year: -He has huge power potential -He has pretty good patience that seems to be getting better (seemed to have better pitch selection as the season went along). -He has a bad fielding rep, which I dont totally agree with, he is passable. -Strikes out a good amount -Hits for pretty decent avg. I agree that his game still has a ways to go, but he was 20 this past year and showed good growth in his game over the course of the year. In my opinion he is going to be a very good player. I would definitely say he was the best position player in the sox system not at the major league level.
