  1. Overblown story. LaRussa is lucky on 2 counts : 1. At least he pulled over . Could have been worse 2. He got his 4 rings back. I would have bet one of them would have ended up on E-Bay.
  2. I played a few prop bets on the game one of which was the over on the longest punt return being 18.5 yards. I think Devon Hester will break a couple of big returns. Unless.of course, Indy just kicks it out of bounds all the time. Which could happen. Go Bears ! 31-28 Ha
  3. Sign me up, please.
  4. I hope KC wins......kinda doubt it but ya never know. I can't see Dallas winning.....all the "experts" on SI.com are picking them to beat Seattle.....I'm a bit surprised at that. Too much Tuna-love going on.
  5. USC gagged......it appeared to me that they thought they would just roll over the Bruins. Give huge credit to UCLA for how they played. Emotion sometimes makes up for one's shortcomings. My 2 cents worth: I agree w/ OMC's post above. Michigan had their chance vs. Ohio State. If UM won the rematch I don't understand how they could be National Champion when the record between OSU and Michigan would 1-1 on the season. Give Florida the chance.
  6. I guess I'm lame cause I actually like jerseys. I have 2 Wood, a Prior and a Sosa. Funny thing is I have a Soriano Yankee jersey fron when I lived in NYC
  7. Come on Vance.....even u know that VORP is skewed as a metric in this case......but I do agree some Yankee-hatred factored into the vote.....however as an impartial observer Morneau was statistically better then Jeter In what way? Jeter was better in runs created and win shares. If you only think in terms of power numbers, then maybe, but there's more to creating runs than just hitting home runs. If that's the case, there were much better choices than Morneau. I respectfully disagree.....VORP does not take into account line-up and/or line-up changes.....the fact remains that Morneau has a Production Factor of 28% vs. Jeters 23%.....what position said player plays in this case is irrelevant......just my opinion and of course I could be wrong.
  8. Come on Vance.....even u know that VORP is skewed as a metric in this case......but I do agree some Yankee-hatred factored into the vote.....however as an impartial observer Morneau was statistically better then Jeter
  9. Huge kudos to the voting process. The right man won.......very strange but true........can't actually believe that the general populace didn't sway this vote to the more "marquee" .....player......hhahahahahahaaaa
  10. Cubs won't be a Tribune asset next year.
  11. His stats are what they are but Soriano is the type of guy that can carry on offense for 3-4 weeks on a run. Juts beware of the upcoming criticism when he strikes out frequently on the low-and-away slider.
  12. 8 years !?!?...............geez.....8 years ? That does not compute.
  13. Yikes...I just posted this Baseball Discussions. Mods feel free to lock or delete my post. Big $$$$
  14. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/6188248 Mods feel free to delete/merge this if another thread has it. Rosenthal at FoxSports.com says an 8 yr deal is close.
  15. I'm totally bias here b/c Kerry Wood is my favourite Cub player.....I'm glad he is back.....i'm glad he signed an incentive-ladened contract and i totally hope he has a great comeback year. Do I wish he was still a starter ? Yes. Do I wish he had stayed healthy ? Of course. I'm just happy to see Kerry in a Cubs uniform. I'm probably dellusional but heres to a good/great comeback.
