This is like Major League, although the 2007 Cubs will never get to see what Hendry looks like as a naked cardboard cutout.

Although I would like to see Major League-like tryouts.

hasn't the organization suffered enough anyway?

I was going to write a long angry rant, but I just don't have it in me. Hendry has failed. And he'll continue to fail because he's not good at his job. He's in in over his head, and he always has been.

And now he and McDonough are going to force feed some BS marketing on the fans and convince a lot of them everything's great because that's easier than assembling a good team. That's easier than having a clear, effective plan regarding player acquisition and adhering to it. That's easier than investing a lot of money in good players.

Yep, we're going to hear the same tired song--"we made a competitive offer, and it was rejected," followed by a lengthy smear campaign RE: ARam's hustle. And then we're gonna seem some Shane Andrews 2.0 plugged into 3B, and they're going to talk about the great year he had at XXXX, even though it was really a mediocre year, but if you look at one stat, ONE SPECIFIC STAT--maybe it's avg. this time, maybe it's RBIs, whatever--it doesn't look that bad.

But anyone who scrutinizes it all will realize this Ron Coomer/Steve Buechelle hybrid they're gonna drag off the scrap heap sucks, just like the team, just like the organization, just like the people who run it.

Wow how remarkable this post was to what I was going to post. At this point I wish they would just give the job to Scott Moore instead of having to deal with Shea Hillebrand or some other never was who has a bigger name then his ability would suggest. What really bothers me is they will probably compensate for not resigning ARam by way over paying for Pierre. I would not be against holding the line on a top flight Free Agent. Just dont over frickin pay for mediocre ones either.

I feel like going on a Lewis Black-eque tirade right now. Seriously, it would be the funniest thing to any cub fan ever, but also would make any fan feel even worse about their team.

Next Up: Carlos Zambrano

If they lose Ramirez, I'd still hope they sign Zambrano. Lee and Barrett, should be traded by Dec. 1, though.

Yep, Barrett's a no-brainer, and if I were Lee, I'd wave that no trade clause in a heartbeat, to get off of this sinking ship.

If this happens I will quit with this team.

The Cubs throughout the years seem to have one guy that the fans come out to see....the Banks...Sosa's and now Z. The rest are just fillers and will always be that way. You have to have that marque guy people will come to see and have a good time while spending money.

Don't even think that. I swear if they resign Slappy, I'll be more bitter than DisgruntledCubFan.

I hated Slappy before they signed him, and I hate that they gave up three prospects to get him, and I hate that he played for the Cubs in 2006, and I hate they didn't deal him at the deadline, and I could not stand another year with his noodle arm throwing, slap hitting, uniform too big wearing self.

If Z stays, it will only be because of some illogical yet psychotically awesome attachment to the Cubs coupled with the fact that Hendry and everyone else would be afraid to say "no" to his face. That's the only hope.

And Lee and Barrett won't be traded. They need to placate the true believers. Gotta keep the seats filled, and there are a lot of koolaid drinkers out there.

That one guy is Wrigley Field.

on the bright side, although he didn't get Aram locked up, Hendry was busy at work this week re-signing Wade Miller and his one arm.

Woot! Go Cubs!

Don't forget his fear of the ivory in Wrigley!

True. Especially in the years between Banks and Sosa.

I still have hope that Hendry and Aramis will work this out.

Delusional I know, but until he is gone, I will hope.

I guess that's why I'm a Cubs fan.
