I dont mind late starts if its on tv. its harder to stay up and listen to the radio.

Now whattsup with this 11:00 am start in boston. This is weird.

Boston does it every year for Patriots day. They have a day game that starts at 11 am and the Boston Marathon is also today. It's a tradition.

For those who have to go to bed early, be sure to look for the re-cap in the morning.

Shameless self-promotion.

I like it!

i love west coast games

no class to make me miss them

I used to say the same in college. Get work done by 10 or 11, watch Cubs game (drink), go to bed, wake up for 11 am class. Can't say I like going to bed by the 3rd inning and waking up the next day to see a boxscore...

For me more like, get out of class at 5, frantically do HW from 5-6, watch Bulls game from 6-8:30, frantically do more HW from 8:30-9:00, watch Cubs game (drink), then try to do HW buzzed from 12-2, wake up at 8 on six hours sleep.

Man... that homework stuff is really cramping your style, no?

I love any Cubs game, and I have no class.

Sincerely,

Rodney Dangerfield

Here's to seeing Pierre get the production going in a warm weather environment and slide into a groove. Lee commented that Pierre was a bit of a slow starter. Perhaps all the bunting attempts in ST didn't yield enough prep time actually swinging at pitches.

Yeah, but that is an 8 AM game time for Seattle fans. I think they should make sure they are playing an AL East or Central team for this series.

Waking up to baseball. It doesn't get any better than that!

I won't be going to any of the Dodger/Cub games. And I won't be able to watch tonights game. Wish they had this one on WGN, because I could then watch it. The bar I'll be at has WGN, but not a baseball package.

Sounds like the Dodgers will be running a make shift line up out there with no Nomar, no Kent, no Gagne, no Brazoban and no Izturis.

Homework always gets in the way of my sports watching. It gets annoying sometimes.

I know he left due to a hbp in the head last night, I did not hear an update regarding his status.... he is for sure out?

It would be nice to keep him out for tonight...he tears up Maddog!

I am totally pumped to be going to all three games (my first at Dodger Stadium - should be exciting). A friend of mine got the tickets, so I don't know exactly where, but I think I'm sitting in the bleachers, near the visitor's bullpen all three games ($8 tickets are nice). If anyone else is gonna be there, I'll be in a Prior Jersey (cause it's the only jersey I've got).

SO excited.

Not to throw this way off-topic or anything, but you're from Los Angeles and you're a North Carolina fan?

Please tell me you lived in North Carolina sometime.

I grew up in North Carolina - basically spent my whole life pre-college there, and been a lifelong fan. While I didn't wind up actually going there, it was my second choice, and my oldest friend, my sister, and many, many other friends have all attended (or are attending) the school.

But I'm with you - I'm generally not a fan of people who just decide to be a Tar Heel or Duke fan cause they're good (especially Duke - gross).

i saw the game last night and that Dodgers lineup does not scare anybody. Today it is going to be basically Furcal, Drew, and the bums. There is definitely no reason why we can't take at least 2 of 3 from the Dodgers with their offense and we have Maddux and Zambrano going in 2 of these games.

Looking forward to watching the game tonight. I always enjoy listening to Vin Scully call the game. Takes me back to my childhood when he used to do the game of the week.

I'm there tonight, between home and first base. My girlfriend's family has great season tickets for Dodgers, makes trips like this a great deal 8)

Last year the one game I was able to make it down to LA for was Koronka's call-up start, lets hope this is way better.

The Dodgers got shut out by Brad Hennessey. Ramon Martinez is their only backup middle IF right now. If Kent is out today, Martinez has to start and there is no backup.

That probably leaves a lineup of Furcal, Lofton, Mueller, Drew, Cruz, Loney, Navarro, Martinez.

Not much of a lineup, but a lot of lefties which may give Maddux a little trouble.

Hopefully Maddux can continue to pitch how he has and pitch a gem like he did last time he was pitching against the Dodgers in L.A.

I can't stand the people who root for UNC or Duke when they've never lived anywhere near the state. One of my friends actually now roots for Duke specifically because he was annoyed that everyone around him was a UNC fan (in Indiana).

I think 2 of 3 is definitely reasonable, but I don't think 3 of 3 was a lot to ask for in Pittsburgh, and I don't think it's too much to ask to come away with out of LA. Teams have their ups and downs, but the Cubs are doing pretty well right now, so hopefully they can keep their game crisp and not let teams onto the field with them if they have no business being there to begin with.

Let's just hope the Dodgers' injury bug doesn't rub off on us...

And I thought we had it bad...

Usually the Patriots Day game is against the Yankees or Blue Jays and starts at 11 am so that fans can get out of the ballpark to see the elite runners pass by around 2 pm. There is talk of moving the game up to 10 or 1030 so that this tradition can stay in place given the length of today's ballgames.

The Sox announcers were joking about the fact that there was no TV coverage for the game back in Seattle and that anyone who was listening on radio was probably sitting in rush hour traffic for work.

Noteworthy Match-ups (Chicago Cubs) Vs. Brett Tomko (RHP, 1-0, with a 6.55 ERA)

for those of you who always thought there was no rhyme or reason to the ballclub Hendry assembled, I think this should do away with it.

clearly Hendry assembled as many guys that suck against Brett Tomko as humanly possible.

I didn't even know that that many people sucked against Tomko. I didn't think it was possible. I just figured everybody could hit him.

They chose to sign Nomar. They knew what they were getting themselves into. The rest of the team I can't speak for, but Nomar has a history.
