Boyd would be on 3 days rest for Game 1 vs Brewers this Sat Oct 3 if Cubs win this series.  Maybe they try to keep someone like Shota for that start.

You do whatever you need to do to win the series and then you worry about the next series if you get there. It's like saving your closer for a save situation in extras that might never come.

That’s true. I’m waiting for this surprise Cubs postseason run where this “anything can happen” theory becomes reality.

They’ve found themselves on the ass end of it like being swept by the 84 win dodgers in the 08 LDS and many other disappointments, In 2016 they were the odds on favorite and won. Other than that no real surprise playoff runs outside of beating Atlanta in 03. 

If they can get to LDS I’ll be ecstatic.
