Strangely enough the Red Sox were 3-47 with RISP in their last 7 games coming into today.  Just needed the Cubs bullpen to get back on track.

At this point, I'm in favor of losing out, setting up the rotation, and going to ATL.  I want no part of how hot the Padres have been or their bullpen of death.  I think ATL is a much more winnable series.

78 pitches in 4.1 innings is a lot. And he threw a lot of non competitive pitches. I am not suggesting he can’t be good. I am saying he frustrates me because with a great ground ball rate he needs to throw strikes and will be very good. And he isn’t doing it enough. League average isn’t good enough for a starter you expect to pitch a game in the WC round.

Most of these guys looks like they went in tank mode all week, they scored 9 on Sunday and have a total of 9 in the next 4 games.

I'm not sure the logic in continually bringing in Thielbar to face lefties when, this year and now at least, he is just not good against lefties.  Regardless of handedness though - I just don't think it was a good spot for him there.  This game is critical, I'd have gone Rollison.

It's been annoying. They've had a little bit of bad luck due to the elements (wind might have gotten a few out earlier, they hit the ball hard a few of the cold nights and it found gloves). But they've also benefited from that pitching, too. 

Frustrating week offensively. Positive thing is that it's a good offense, we know it's a good offense, and things can change on a dime for good offenses.

Getting ahead of myself here but if the Cubs lose both games and SD wins today, we’d be locked into being on the road. Is there a penalty if they just tell MLB to F off we’re not flying to Tampa because the game doesn’t matter?

He sucks. At what point does platooning stop working when you have a lefty who can’t get anyone out regardless of handedness?

I think I saw both Taylors and Amayas doubles would have been HRs without the wind affecting them.   Problem is they just stopped hitting well after the 3rd inning.
