And we’d be underdogs in games 1-3 versus the Brewers, Dodgers and Phillies.  My point is we need 1-2 pitchers to get on a heater going into the playoffs.   Maybe Holmes can be one?

If Holmes can pitch like he did, before the injury, he should be our #1.  Then, we need to pick between Boyd, Shota, Gausman and Cabrera for #2 and 3.

Early but not looking good for the Dodgers. Sasaki is a walk machine and their offense is pretty punchless.

Sasaki was super lucky.  Pitched 6 innings and 13 hard hits and 5 walks.  For some reason, he gave up only 2 runs.

I’d be disappointed if Holmes wasn’t the guy with his track record and the fact that we gave up Rojas for him.

4-2, picking up some ground on Milwaukee is pretty damn good.  Can't fault the Cubs for last night, appears the Nationals' starter literally pitched the game of his life.  No one, not even the Brewers would have got to him.  The pressure is on the Brewers, I believe there's a real good chance their lead on the Cubs will be 2 or less games Monday morning.

If the Cubs play a WC round at home against the Phillies I wouldn’t expect them to be underdogs. I think people greatly overestimate the Phillies. I also doubt the Cubs are underdogs against the Brewers, except for when Mis pitches. As for the Dodger, it doesn’t really matter who most teams have starting, the Dodgers would be favorites.

For some reason the Brewers have the Dodgers number during the regular season. Which means Cubs need to take care of business against the Cardinals and don't expect help from the Dodgers.

Dodgers have terrible luck with relievers, They paid big $$ for Tanner Scott and Yates last year and Diaz this year and all were terrible.  Scott and Yates were unusable in the post season,  but they have so much monopoly money they had 3 big money starters in reserve they could plug in the for the post-season and do better, so......
