Need at least 6 solid innings out of Imanaga tonight, if bats cant do anything with Skenes, hopefully they can get to the bullpen late.

Skenes gives up 2 or less ER in 75% of his starts this season. He's also pitched less than 6 innings in half his starts, including 7 of his last 12.

Shota also made an adjustment and I locating himself on the 3rd base side of the rubber . Results have been better since the adjustment .

I am really conflicted with Skubal. I know he is great but to lose what they will have to lose for 1/3 of a year when they aren’t the favorite to win, even if they have him, is hard for me to accept. He might end up pitching 1 meaningful game for them.

Baseball is a game of constant adjustments.  Shota was for much of his first year here a very good MLB pitcher.  He had and injury - had teams adjust to exploit his weaknesses and he fell on some hard times, but he's smart - he's always looking for the next adjustment to get back to where he was.  Been pretty darn good his last 7 starts.  Let's see how it plays out.

Aside from the four consecutive bad starts, Shota has been good.  Hopefully, he won't slow down.

Unfortunately that still leaves Yamamoto and Wrobleski. Sheehan hasn't been good but he did dominate them in LA.

Strikes me as very weird that Roberts is declaring the MVP race over in July when his attention should be focused on his less than 100% superstar player

I think if the division race was closer and getting Skubal potentially made the difference in getting a bye, it'd be a real question. But since Milwaukee insists on pulling this crap every year, Jed isn't going that big when he's only looking at one guaranteed postseason start for him.
