I've been telling myself Dansby's defense is worth waiting for his bat to come around but I'm quickly losing patience and second guessing that belief.  He's a complete disaster at the plate with no signs of coming out of it.

Swanson about to catch Chris Davis for worst batting average in a season at .168 for qualified hitters.

Currently at .175

This is the cheapest inning I've seen in quite a while

Well, that one was less cheap

I saw this post earlier - couldn’t agree more. I’ll take a series win at this point. Come back home and hopefully get right again.

Vitello deserved to give up a HR for the dumb ass decision to leave Webb in there, but if this team didn't have bad luck they'd have no luck

I get it though. Webb is like the only guy on their team worth two shits. They'd get such a haul if they decide to trade him.

5 years.

Alex Bregman’s contract is only 5 years.

Look at it this time, Jason Hayward’s 8 year contract expired 3 years ago.

They need to have a quick hook with Rea, but for some reason this guy gets such a long leash in every start.  He's not good.

What is it with you and Rea? When was he supposed to take him out? After two bloop hits with EV around 60MPH. Yes, Chapman crushed a homer after that. But there was no way he should have taken him out before that homer. Rea is a swing starter. I get that is all he is. But you can’t take him out after 3 innings of pitching well.

looked like webb would be out after 6. cruises through 8.

Who thought he would be out after 6? Granted, 8 was a lot because of a 7 pitch 7th. But he was only at 90 ish after 7.

I thought they should have taken him out after the HBP or even the batter before that.  Like you mentioned, the HR changed the dynamic of that inning.

It seems like a reoccurring thing with him - pretty damn solid for 3 or 4 innings, falls apart in the 5th or 6th inning.  Which is understandable because he's a swing starter like you mentioned.  But CC needs to have a better plan, IMO

Swanson has been such a non-factor offensively that he needs to be removed from the starting lineup. The offense is not consistent enough to carry a glove only guy like Swanson.

But even after hitting a guy to load the bases, he got out of that inning without further damage. . And then pitched another inning. He walked a guy to start the 7th and was pulled. He went 4.2 innings. Hardly a long leash. And the pen gave the run up anyway.
Remember he didn’t start. So they were down a pen arm already. Yes, after the inning he gave up the homer, when he got in trouble again CC could have pulled him. But aside from the homer he was pretty good up until then. And he has to eat innings. They were already down 3-0 to Webb. It was probably a game that, at that time, they had a 10% chance of winning. Why run through pen arms when maybe Rea can’t get through that inning, and even if he couldn’t, you probably aren’t scoring 4 runs anyway.
