Yeah, I meant I think someone will take the fall. Most likely Dustin Kelly. Would love for it to be Hoyer though, even though there’s a higher likelihood I’m crowned miss teen USA.

I bet on the Pirates today and im thinking of doing it for the next 2 days as well. Not sure when this offense is gonna break this horsefeathers. They are surely not this bad but they are apparently very easy to pitch to right now. The RISP hitting is at an all-time low.

Gotta be brutal in the clubhouse. Living with a level of professional failure 99% of people can’t even fathom must be awful.

these guys are at the top of their field, I doubt they see this is a professional failure

I kinda feel bad for PCA.  He was supposed to be the next big thing and instead, the only things he goes viral for these days are his brain farts in center field or on the bases.

Between his bromance with Caleb Williams and his comments about Dodgers fans earlier in the year, it seems like he bought into his own hype too quickly.

The Cubs really horsefeathered up by giving him that extension.  He ain't that guy.

I think you're selling PCA short. During this losting streak he's been hitting the ball hard but at people and has had a 15% BB rate.  He's seemingly fixed by far the weakest part of his game almost overnight.  It's been the main thing holding him back, so I see good things with the bat upcoming.

If his biggest weakness from now on is occasionally putting his foot in his mouth I can definitely live with that.  He was right about Dodger fans and that W.Sox lady anyways.

I know it has been argued back and forth that, whether accumulated on offense or defense, all WAR is equal.

But after watching the Cubs offense every year post-2016, I refuse to believe it. A bunch of average offensive players who are great defensively are not as valuable as a bunch of great hitters who are average defensively.

I’m guessing the roster construction is why the computer models gave the Cubs the 10th highest odds of winning a World Series of the 12 playoff team last October despite the 4th highest team fWAR in baseball.

i wonder how many teams have had a 10+ game winning streak and a 10+ game losing streak in the same season. I know the 2017 Dodgers did. But it can’t be that common.

It’s happened 25 times total. The Cubs and Dodgers are the only teams with multiple 10 game winning streaks and a 10 game winning streak however.

This will continue until gam threads say cobs. I know this site is professional and all now, but we have a duty. Fix the gam threads.

Watching games that don’t involve the Cubs and it looks like a completely different sport.

Don’t watch the Brewers.  Especially when Miz starts.

Okay, I'm changing my bold prediction of Cubs winning a game this week to Suzuki getting another hit this season.  Can he put up an 0-100 before that next hit?

If you want to really flex your nuts then how about getting a base hit on a 2 strike slider.

Chris Davis was unlucky too.

Chris Davis had 2 unlucky seasons as a full time player and not once in his entire career did he run a season OBP as high as PCA has in the last 3 games where he's scalding the ball with only one hit.

You're just being intentionally dense at this point. Pete is clearly not getting the results we hope for, but hitting the ball hard repeatedly, and taking walks!, is a good thing

This stretch has been dreadful for everyone but PCA's at bats have passed the eye test for me.  He's laid off a lot of junk and hit the ball hard.  Not every time, but looks miles better than he did in the second half last year, even if the results haven't been there.

The June schedule is pretty favorable.  I don't think this team is great and the pitching injuries have certainly added up, but they'll get it together.

PCA hasn’t struck out in his last 12 PAs. Id be surprised if that isn’t the longest he’s gone.

at a quick glance, there was at least a 5-game stretch (20 plate appearances) in 2025 where he didn't strike out.

You’re right. During that 5 game stretch he didn’t walk even once though.
