He won't be back before the All Star break would be my guess. Flexor strain is the same injury Riley Martin is on the shelf for 8 weeks with

Horton also had a flexor repaired in his recent surgery.   Numerous flexors are in the forearm, even around the wrist which i imagine is why Horton felt discomfort there when he walked off the mound.

This isn't disastrous yet for Steele but it isn't good.

He was a 2026 Chicago Cub

The injury monster ran out of good pitchers to kill so now he's attacking the good hitters

At the beginning of the broadcast Taylor said it's a flexor in his throwing arm, had imaging done, his repaired elbow/UCL is fine, but CC said Steele won't be back until after the ASB.

Was previously on pace for about early June return.

He's a left-handed Javy Baez. So eager to swing that pitchers can throw junk out of the zone and get him fishing. If you make a mistake he's going to crush it, but his plate discipline is like me playing MLB: The Show

Good take! I hear ya with MLB the Show 😂

PCA is so good out there I wasn't even concerned whether he'd catch the ball, just whether it would somehow carry out

The optimist in me says maybe it isn't the worst thing in the world.  The surgically repaired ligament gets a bit of a forced break from rehab, then he still has an opportunity to contribute down the stretch and into the playoffs.

It isn't ideal, but it's extra time for the ligament to fully recover before game action.

It's kind of sad.  When PCA walks, especially against a LHP, I feel very happy.  That's the best case scenario, followed by a hit by a pitch.

Can they please score some runs when there are multiple men on base a bit more consistently than once every 14 AB’s the situation presents itself.

Well, that was convenient…
