The level of awe from guys like Randy Moss, Teddy Bruschi, and Alex Smith on the pregame shows Sunday over that throw was crazy.  It gets more amazing every time I watch it.  Moving left, feet off the ground, Rome is like at the hash mark when he lets it go, and he drops it into the only spot it could go on a 4th down that probably ends the game if he misses.  Absolutely incredible.

I went to the nearest football and try to replicate that pass. I will spare you the embarrassing details but suffice to say, I am even more in awe of the pass and Caleb's talent.

I don't hate Collinsworth as much as the rest of the world, so I'm cool with that.

I loathe the mother horsefeathers, it's too bad he wasn't announcing last night' Texans - Steelers game to see his boy get mauled.  horsefeathers never has any praise for the Bears, pounces on every mistake and doesn't let it go, last Bears game he did was a perfect example.  Purdy throws a horsefeathers pick-6 and Collinsworth' is hounding Caleb for missing a pass.

Easily my most detested guy in the booth with Troy Aikman starting to catch up. He's the king of the obvious and makes it very clear which players he does an does not like, especially his love affair with Mahomes. He brings no insight whatsoever. During the 49er game where Caleb was torching San Francisco, Collinsworth did nothing but focus on 3 throws that Caleb didn't hit. Meanwhile Brock Purdy was a good amongst men.

Fixed.  Must be a sad day for Chris, one of his boys may have played his last game and it was a ****** last game at that.

I'm gonna be real annoying for a second: I think the focus on Caleb's throw in OT to DJ is misplaced. The far more impressive and meaningful throw he made in that game was the game-tier to Jahdae Walker on 4th down with the blitz in his face.

That throw was do-or-die, with a blitzer right there, and required incredible touch to make happen. The one to DJ was fun and a game winner, and I think technically quite difficult, but it was on 1st down and they were getting close to FG range anyway. I just think its weird the Jahdae Walker one has gotten almost completely ignored.

100% agree.  Just like that throw to Rome, the game is over if he doesn't make that play.

I agree - that throw has been completely overlooked. I can think of at least four passes within the past few weeks that you could probably argue as his best throw. I'd probably rank them as:

1. The 4th down throw to Odunze

2. 4th down Fadeaway TD to Walker

3. Game Winner TD to Moore

4. Montana-like TD to Moore against the Browns.

Can't wait for Collinsworth to bag on Caleb if he misses a throw like the 4th down one.

Not a film guy, but IMO "and his feet stayed calm" is the big thing that's changed over the last ~6 weeks and why he's stopped missing so many gimme throws.
