Dodgers didn’t want a long term deal , so no problem . They just threw 23 on AAV to Diaz on a 3 year deal , just to have some fun and get in on the offseason action 😂

Where did he say that? He connected the Reds, and the Pirates to Schwarber. Said the Mets were meeting with him. But I can't find anything suggesting Heyman connected the Cubs to Schwarber.

Heyman did mention the Cubs among the possible fits for Schwarber , but it seem like complete speculation to me .

This inevitable lockout is NOT going to be fun.

I didn’t check out the FA list next year. Is it better if you don’t count all the Cubs on that list?

I believe they will explore deals for a bat, but in the end not end up with Bregman, Suarez(thankfully) or Bichette. I also doubt the younger Japanese player. But I wouldn’t be shocked if they ended up with the other Japanese 3rd baseman or traded for someone like Bohm. They can keep Shaw in this case. In fact if they did trade for Bohm, Shaw would probably still start at 3rd. Bohm would be a guy to hit left handed pitchers, play 3rd occasionally and also cover first when they sit Busch. I do, however, expect a decent pitcher coming this off season. Whether it be via trade (Gore, Cabrera, Ryan, etc…..) or FA (Imai or King), I think they will spend to get a MOR/TOR starter. With Imanaga, Tailon and Boyd leaving next year, they need some stability after this year. They won’t do it all in one year.

I think It a little better, but maybe a bit on the older side.

I think pitching is and should be Hoyer main focus for this offseason, I would love to see him add a solid SP to help solidify a rotation going forward after this season with Steele and Horton.

I also think theyll add a bat or two, just dont think itll be someone big, but like you said someone in the tiers below like Bohm.

One thing you can count on the Dodgers is that they get their target

Suckers! Look at all Jed’s Participation Trophies! You don’t get those by winning bids on players you like!

Can't wait for all the smart and crafty moves the Cubs make this offseason.  Jed deserves another extension for the way he can pay through the nose for an 86 win team. 🤮

Dodgers already have 12 guys under contract for 2027 worth over 275 mil 😅😅

Right. If they added a pitcher this year they would have that pitcher, Steele, Horton and probably Wiggins in the rotation starting after the lock out. A decent start to a rotation. That is why I do think they add someone. I think they will spend $40M+ this off season. So they have money for a pitcher, a bat and a pen arm. Not sure they can get all of that via FA and stay at $40M. Maybe Imai or King, Fairbanks or Finnegan and then Okamato. They might have to extend beyond $40M. Going all FA that is about as good as I can see them doing. And by doing this they keep all their young bats. Shaw to play second in ‘27 and Cassie, Mo, Long or Alcantara in the line up. Fill the rest with FA.

I know we all want a big move (I do too), but we don't need to jump the shark; the Cubs won 92-games last year. Hoyer built a good team. We should probably give him more than a month into the off-season (when most of that month is just the league waiting anyways) before we get worried they will build a mid-80s win team.

Good on the Dodgers and all that but I really see other teams actually, you know, try.

But I rather like being unhinged and lashing out.  Just tired watching a dismal offense; it sure was fun for 2.5 months when we had a legit bat in the middle.  Oh well.

Two guys the Cubs added last offseason made the all star team and Kelly came damn close to making it three

I get it, offense is fun. I think next year, it'll be more pitching focused.

I would like for them to go back to being gutless choking dogs in the playoffs.

I mean, I think it’s better when a team that’s willing to spend wins. Big market teams have their own advantages. Can’t blame them for using it.

I don't blame. I blame the Cubs for not doing to same thing. I just wish the Dodgers would go back to sucking when they are in the playoffs.

Dodgers and Yankees swim in the Ocean while everyone else chooses lakes and ponds, been this way forever

With Diaz signed those Skubal reports out  of LA late last night seem a little more real. I'm not counting the Dodgers out on Tucker or Bellinger either.

-Sign Bregman or Belly

-Sign Fairbanks

-Trade for another starter

No excuse for this not to be very possible.
