Ok, but I never saw oWAR used in his question.

Offensive runs/oWAR, the crux of my question stemmed from confusion over 3 separate categories on Fangraphs that assign run values to BrR (base running runs), off (which is offensive runs plus base running runs above average), the part that I missed, and defensive runs.

To sum it up, the better statistical hitter Michael Busch provided less offensive runs than Tucker because of the disparity in BrR. wRC+ isn’t the only component of offensive run value on Fangraphs which I’ve now learned.

Thank you for the level headed response.  It's quite refreshing

You were given multiple level headed responses that explained exactly that. You were even told it by the person you claimed said that baserunning increased wRC+ (they didn't) and your response to everything was "I wasn't responding to that."

Who's going to be the first free agent to sign ? My guess is Tucker to the Blue Jays.

Was it not Josh Naylor to the Mariners?

Yes he was. Guess the question should be who will be the first FA to sign and switch teams?

We usually see a medium signing sometime around the Thanksgiving mark. So I'd guess someone in the like...Chris Bassit/Lucas Giolito/Dustin May range? Maybe a team jumps the market on Dustin May because of his age relative to others?

It’s insulting to everyone how it’s a foregone conclusion Tucker will be on another team any day now. The front office/ownership won’t even humor us by giving Tucker a half assed competitive offer.

Usually the SP market moves fastest.  Like you should expect most of the major SP moves to be done shortly after winter meetings, with maybe 2-3 stragglers strategically holding out for teams left holding a bag when they miss on the hitters they want.

That said I could see Schwarber signing soon.  Like Naylor the vibes are overwhelmingly in favor of him re-signing.  And Dombrowski doesn't mess around, I believe he got Nola done before Thanksgiving two years ago.

Was it Nate Pearson?😄

From everything I been reading , I would expect the reliever market to get going relatively soon .

In terms of the Cubs i think we will be waiting a while . I don’t think they do anything until they get a SP . That move will set up the others with the budget .

I think right now , their preference would be to make a trade . If they end up signing King , then  we will see a lot of rosters spots taken care off in low cost moves .

I think Tucker probably said "don't bother, I'm not signing here"

If he did it was in response to the offer he was floated.

He may have simply decided this wasn't the place for him. He started posting "thanks for everything, Cubs fans" before the free agency period really started

it probably didn't help that he got booed while playing through an injury

He said no thanks to the 4 years, $199.99 million offer ( Jed couldn’t get permission from Tom to make it an even $200 million) because someone would offer him double.

You already doubled the offer. Jed's philosophy only allows for one player to have a 9 figure contract. The offer was 2/99.99M.

How could I confuse Jed with Theo. You’re right. The money will be used wisely on multiple players with low 80’s ratings in MLB The Show 26 to bring us home 88 wins.

They met with Boras at the winter meetings and likely made a best offer, but it won't be in the ballpark. Looking back on it, if Cam Smith turns into something, it's a wet fart trade.

Not to bring home 88wins. I think the quote was to project 88 wins and overachieve projections. The Counsell factor, baby.

Rangers non-tendered Adolis Garcia. Maybe we should aim higher but he's a right fielder with a good glove and power. Potentially a RH complement to Caissie?

Except he sucked against left handed pitching last year. He would be a hard pass for me. Much rather have Refsnyder for less.
