Tongue mostly in cheek but Colin Rea has 29 strikeouts and one walk over his last 4 outings to go along with a 1.48 ERA.  The flipside to pretty much any argument for removing Shota from the post-season rotation implies Rea should slide in, right?

Fun trivia time! Seiya, PCA, Busch all with 30 HR this season. Last time the Cubs had 3 guys hit 30 HR in the same season?

  Reveal hidden contents

2004 (Sosa, A-Ram, DLee, Alou all did it)

KB and Javy came 1 HR short of being the 3rd in 2017 and then in 2019, respectively.

Crazy that I thought Tucker was the shoo-in.

With the offense looking better I'm starting to worry about the fact that I'm going to be in Greece the week of the NLDS.  If we get night games thats gonna be a tough few days.

(not an intentional humblebrag but one nonetheless)

I’ve followed MLB from overseas before, it’s kind of fun.  Not sure if they block it now but years back MLB.TV let you get the games internationally with your subscription.

Cubs have outscored the cardinals by a combined score of 71-38 this season and they’re only 6-5 so far.

12-1, 9-1, 11-0, 11-3, 3-0, 8-0 are the scores in the Cubs wins.

I've been looking it up, I think I should be able to get MLB.tv in Greece.  I don't subscribe to it but I'm sure they have a playoff package.  Or I'll just find a stream somewhere.  That's what I did back in like 2014 when the Blackhawks were in the playoffs and I was in Germany.  Woke up at 3am, watched the game and then fell back asleep lol.

Selfishly I want day games though, a 1pm start is 9pm in Greece, perfect timing.

If I had to guess since they are playing west coast team. Start times for at least game 1 and 2 would be 4pm ish. If there is a game 3, and a couple series are done maybe 7 ish

Day games for sure. If you are vacationing in Greece, sitting out by a pool or restaurant on a beach, watching Cubs playoff baseball?

Yes please.

Mikolas totally told him to bean PCA

If he's gonna bean him it wouldn't have been with a slider.

If he was going to BEAN him it would have been on the head, not the knee. No one gets beaned in the knee.

I was in Italy the year the Cubs lost to the Brewers in the one game for the division and then the Rockies for the wild card. I got the final few innings on the radio when I woke up, through mlb. Heard Pat call the elimination game.

If the Yankees win the division I would guess the Cubs might get a little better game time. If the Dodgers, Cubs and Yankees all played in rd 1 my guess is the Cubs would be a day game. I would say AL central winner plays the first game, Cubs second, Yankees 3rd and Dodgers the late game. If Yankees win the division maybe the Cubs get the prime time game.

I think this is right.  We're currently looking at a pretty stellar slate:

Dodgers vs. Mets

Cubs vs Padres

Cleveland vs Detroit

Yankees vs Red Sox

In this scenario it's pretty obvious how it'llget scheduled.  The AL Central battle is the early window, Cubs in the afternoon, Yankees/Sox prime time, Dodgers late.

I think if Yankees/Red Sox gets broken up but Dodgers/Mets doesn't that has a chance to slide into prime time?  Then the Yankees would get the afternoon slot and Cubs/Padres would be late.

This is probably true, but if you are on vacation in Europe do you really want to sit and watch the game? I am a huge fan, but even I wouldn’t do that. Typically I try not vacationing in October.

FYI to all:  The Padres game is free on MLB.TV tonight.  8:40 central start time.

Fair enough, Im a degenerate and only missed the Tokyo series this year so watching a ball game on vacation sounds perfect to me 😂
