Seiya is back.  I heard he's been sick, so I'm not sure how it goes.  At least, I like it better than Castro.

Hopefully, Boyd will pitch well against a bad team.

Did anyone have the Cubs 3 games better than the Dodgers this late into the regular season?  What I also find surprising is despite the Brewers being literally unbeatable for a significant stretch the Cubs are only 5 games back in the loss column.

No but the Dodgers give me 2017 Cubs vibes.  Coming off a World Series title, they know they're gonna make the playoffs, maybe they have to push a little harder late in the season to finish off the division but they'll probably win that.  The goal is just to be ready to go when the playoffs start.

Dodgers nope, and the Brewers, sucks that they went off and played like the 27 Yankees for 2 months, but the cubs still had an opportunity to get the lead back but was stuck on playing 500 ball for a bit.

Hopefully they get to meet up in the next round and the cubs can handle buisness then.

Since the first game of the Brewers series the Cubs have gone 17-10 and gained 4 games. They have been playing well, but 9 back is rough to overcome. The Cubs has no control over what the Brewers did when they were not playing them. And, in fact, over this crazy amount of brewers playing incredible ball, then Cubs beat them 4 of 7. Cubs will probably win 93 or so games this year. That is a great year.

At this point, while acknowledging there's still plenty of time for things to change, I'm not counting on Tucker being there for at least the WC round.  Maybe we'll get a more positive update in a couple of days but something seems very off about this.

I think he'll need to play by the last 3 games in order to be on WC roster.

Only problem with him missing another week if hes still not ready by then is that he'll be very rusty as far as game shape goes and theres nowhere for him to play to get some live game action before the NLDS.

Yeah the Brewers being on pace for 99 wins makes not winning the division annoying but less frustrating.  We mostly took care of business against them (or at least won more than we lost) so not much you can do to affect their season outside of those games.  Certainly could have added more in the offseason or the deadline but for most teams its unrealistic to be upset that you didn't win 100 games given all the uncontrollable variables over the course of an MLB season.

Wasn't diminishing their year, just saying despite the Brewers crazy run, they still had an opportunity to cut into this 5 game lead they have on them.

They were 5 back after they swept the Angels, the Brewers went into a bit of a tail spin after the cubs series and went 5-7 before sweeping the Pirates, but the cubs didn't take advantage cause they got swept by the Giants and ended up going 5-8 themselves during that span.

So, was just saying despite the Brewers crazy run, the Cubs still had an opportunity to catch them but couldn't take advantage of the Brewers losing 7 of 12.

Good turn Suzuki.

Does everyone approve of this start?

And do we all feel good about getting more than 4 runs?

They're old and injury prone, think that's played a big part in, for the Dodgers, a pedestrian  84-67.  Don't know about Ohtani pitching, still think his arm is going to explode at some point.
