Worst hitting team in NL and a clinching game for playoffs and he’s wetting the bed. Now imagine when it’s a playoff game. Do you trust him?

No.  Like I said, Jamo would be better.

4 run first, this is gonna be an easy blowout win...

1 inning later, about to give up the lead

🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Not to mention they've had 4 baserunners since the 4th run scored and haven't pushed another across.

And what bugs me is we should have easily had more runs. If this team stagnates at 4 again it’s a trend.

Do you think this is a high pressure game?

I think Boyd needs an extra couple days between his next few starts and he'll probably be fine.  He's clearly not sharp but the velocity is there.  Hopefully just some fatigue that rest will take care of.

This is obviously a more condensed time frame, but in Boyd's last two starts last year for Detroit he gave up 15 baserunners in 6.2 innings combined. He then went out and gave up 13 over 11.2 (and one run). I'll lean on that playoff performance over a Wednesday morning matinee against the Pirates.

Not a playoff game but I’m sure they would love to clinch the game . It’s been a month now with his poor performance so what I’m saying is that he has lost his spot as a starter in playoffs. Maybe #4 starter if needed otherwise perfect as long reliever if needed

I think even a diminished form of Matt Boyd is better than Taillon. And then there's the possibilities that he's purposely dialing it back a notch, that he's getting unlucky in the way that just called up Horton was in terms of not putting guys away, etc.

Relying on short term trends over full season performance is not the right way to manage a baseball team.

I don't call it "short term".  It's been about 7 weeks.  I agree Boyd is a better pitcher than Jamo, but not right now.

A quarter of the season? For the guy with two starts coming off injury and a 5/4 K/BB ratio in 10.1 IP in those starts? Matt Boyd has a better FIP and xFIP in his last 7 starts than Taillon's last 7 starts. And was obviously significantly better than he was before those starts.
