I wasn't frustrated at all.  For one, the entire season felt fake.  Plus the offense had really struggled down the stretch of the season so I wasn't surprised that they struggled.  If they played 162 games, I don't think the Cubs win the Central, so it didn't suck as much to me.

It’s frustrating when you have memories of 07, 08, 2018 etc 3 runs is all it took. Not heartbreaking but very annoying.

yeah I can understand that it was frustrating.  maybe if it was a normal season I'd have cared more.  But everything about that season seemed so fake I just shrugged my shoulders and moved on.

this feels like an inevitable sweep

i'm feeling kind of pissed off they didn't sit Tucker for a week (or however long he needed) to rest up his hand after he injured it because it clearly has hampered him and its done nobody any good to trot him out there for the last month+ and not actual heal the damn thing

Willi Castro playing every game since he was acquired as a fill in is symptomatic of the nose dive that we're in, Justin Turner starting at first is just as worrying. This team is on the ledge

We just don’t know the extent of the injury. I think if it was something that could be healed in 10ish days and it’s truly bothering him, they would have absolutely put him on the IL. For example, William Contreras is playing through a fractured finger. They said it’s either play through the pain or he would need to be shut down for 2-3 months for it to truly heal. We likely won’t know until after the season what’s really going on, similar to last season when Dansby had a sports hernia and Nico’s flexor tendon issue.

Welcome!

Justin Turner has a 125 wRC+ against LHP. Abbott is LHP. This is not nearly as problematic as you are suggesting as league RHH are hitting 99 wRC+ against LHP. Willi Castro has 107 wRC+ and has been worth 6.5 fWAR through his last 2 and 2/3rds season. He's been an above average starting player. Him playing every is not problematic either. He's also very good against LHP, with a 130 wRC+.

I have absolutely zero desire to have the Cubs play a game right now.  Why can't a random thunderstorm show up out of nowhere to wash it away?

Thanks for the welcome.

Above average does not equal titles, I just see a streaky hitter with not very much power in Castro and Turner is nowhere near the player he was. Saying all that I stand corrected :). Just underwhelmed by the trade deadline when in such a commanding position

Turner just seems a few clicks behind in every at bat, he guessed on that HR the other day. Only time he should be in the game is pinch hitting

Getting rest for a starting group that’s played damn near every day this season is important. Being able to do that without putting Vidal Brujan into the starting lineup is a very good thing.

03 I remember. It was Bartman’s fault that they lost though and had nothing to do with choking.

It's been debated to death over the last 21+ years, but there's a list of roughly 50 people who should be placed above him on the blame chart for what happened in the '03 NLCS.

Lol, no it wasn't Bartman fault..

Gonzalez had a taylor made DP and blew it.

They were up 3 games to 1 with Zambrano Prior and Wood plus 2 home games to get 1 win.

Had a 3 run lead in 8th in game 6, had a 5-3 lead in game 7

They choked

You can put Gonzalez at number 1 for botching a double play, Alou’s overreaction throwing off Priors concentration and momentum, Dusty for leaving Prior in too long, all have an argument.
