Honestly I don't why the Cubs should play at all today.  According to consecutive recent news articles here the Brewers are far superior and the Cubs don't have the remotest chance today.

Does anyone know where Kyle Tucker is?  Didn't he used to be good at baseball?  Maybe, the Cubs will find him today.

He is in a slump (hitting wise), but he's also taking a lot of walks because there is no protection for him in the lineup. Moving Busch ahead of him took away one quality bat behind him, and with Seiya, Dansby and Happ all slumping, why give Tucker anything to hit?

You can find him on base 36% of his plate appearances in July if you're genuinely looking for him.

Think Counsell has figured this out yet?  I don't think there's any question Busch needs to be moved back down.  Why not try it today?  Maybe, Nico in the lead off spot and Busch 5th?

I hate that this is an afternoon game.  Now I'll be distracted all afternoon and if they lose it will suck.  If they win I'll just feel more relief than joy.

A whole bunch of teams have struggled beating the Crew lately.  I hoped we might rise above that, but the fact that we haven't, in their building, isn't really a surprise.

Offense is in a slump, it won’t last forever. It sucks that the slump is happening at this moment but that’s just baseball as you all know.  The offense will come back to life, pitching will stabilize and be efficient. Second half Cubs will get hot.

The lack of IL stint for Happ kinda clarifies the Ballesteros move for me based on the past approach by the FO. You don't really need a backup outfielder if Happ is going to stay on the roster, but he probably ideally needs a couple days off. With Amaya rehabbing in AAA, it makes sense to bring up the guy who temporarily lost his daily spot and has also already had a taste of major league pitching. 

Obviously now we've got 4 major league-ish catchers floating around between Chicago and Iowa, so McGuire has to see the writing on the wall. But that's a problem for the post deadline, healthy Amaya team to deal with

That makes a lot more sense.  I was a little confused by Happ immediately going to the IL following a negative x-ray, especially with an off day tomorrow.  There was no reason to rush an IL decision when they can wait and re-evaluate in a day or two.

Me to, feeling really negative about today' game.  Salvaging a win along Ballesteros hitting more than dribblers would be a great change of pace.
